Looks like the entire House Dem caucus is present and on the floor.

According to sauces, Jeffries is going to let this circus play out this afternoon before indicating to the GOP caucus the Dems will agree to vote to give McHenry temporary powers as Acting Speaker if they want to end the shit show tonight.

Sauces indeed. I hope you're not citing Chip Brown.

What is the current reporting about how many GOP members are locked as a hard “no” on Gym?

Is it drama worth watching or nah - a waste of time fait accompli?

Another chance for the R's to shit themselves on the grandest of stages? Oh this is definitely worth watching.

People almost got in to fights when McCarthy won, so it's probably worth it just for that.

What the hell is Elise Stefanik talking about?

Elaine Steafasdlafkdsfick can sit right down and stfu.

Shit she made up.

I'll be interested to see how many 'pubs say they're a "no" then vote "yes", which the media generally won't pick up on.

Weaponization the federal government isn't that like Gym's brand?

Extra points for her mentioning wrestling and eliciting groans.

Dems coming out swinging. I like it.

My best guess is the exhange will be a significant limitation on his powers as speaker. Not sure what that would look like, but I just don't see anyone on the right willing to give any legitimate concessions, and dems might do well enough to get the House working again while limiting the speakers powers to conduct bullshittery.

Someone should nominate Fani Willis.

Lol this is fantastic, "he said no"

I was wondering why we needed speeches again, but I’m glad Pete Aguilar was able to give this one

"Jordan is beside himself. Driving around downtown DC begging (thru texts) Buck's family for address to Ken's home"

Buck didn’t vote. Not present, just didn’t vote.   Not sure what this does to the math.

Edited by SydneyCarton

Buck no votes on first pass - will vote at the end I guess when it's more clear?

Surnames starting with B are grossly over represented on the House floor.

The second vote for McCarthy definitely sent a titter through the chamber.

why Altuve trending with Jordan?

Because both are losing.

We got him?

Seems like he’s going to end up needing to whip at least 10, at this rate. And that’s if more don’t defect.

There are few assholes in Congress who deserve being publicly humiliated more than Jordan does.

Reduces the denominator, same as present. But he's in the room, so he will likely vote.

on CNN, they keep saying Jordan can only afford to lose 3. Who is missing? That doesn't seem right.

Unfortunately he belongs to the ever-growing contingent of Republicans who are utterly incapable of shame or embarrassment.

Number we’ve heard and on msnbc is 4. He’s at 9 already.

IIRC upthread it was mentioned that a few are missing.
