June 16, 20187 yr Just now, SimonBolivar said: Why the video review in the previous game, but they don't look at that one? Ref was very assertive. It felt like he told the VAR, “I got this.”

June 16, 20187 yr Iceland impressed me during Euro 2016 and doing the same now. Very organized and disciplined squad. As an Argentina just getting a point is deflating as fuck.
June 16, 20187 yr He's getting closer. If they give Messi enough chances, he's going to put one in the net.
June 16, 20187 yr Iceland kind of bullying Argentina...which as long as the ref lets them do it is extremely smart

June 16, 20187 yr Banega displaying his shot stopping ability. Biglia... then Banega... so much suck at one position.

June 16, 20187 yr I think that Mascherano has between 1 and 5 goals in his 143+ matches for the Argentina national team.

It's just that in the short time in charge, Sampaoli has chosen these guys (along with Messi's input) to keep in his circle of trust. Matias Kranevitter and/or Santiago Ascacibar should have replaced one or both of them.

June 16, 20187 yr I haven't seen one dive in the box. I haven't seen a dive in the rest of the field. I did see an Icelandic defender deliver a body check before actually trying to make a play on the ball that wasn't bad enough to call a penalty, but would have possibly been called a foul elsewhere on the field. I would say that Iceland is diving more than expected and they're playing with a bit more 2010 Dutch squad "passion"/"improvisational physicality" than I expected as well. And anyone thinking that "Messi is going to have a response to Cristiano Ronaldo's performance yesterday" hasn't watched Argentina play for the last 8 to 9 year, nor the way Messi is defended in matches for the national team... especially when the opponent is vastly less talented, but parks the bus, and sticks to their defensive game plan.Another one for a bad pk

June 16, 20187 yr Congrats to Iceland. I think I'm going to pretend they're the USA for the rest of the tourney. I damn sure wish our guys played like they do.

June 16, 20187 yr So.with a population that wouldnt even be ranked in the top 50 in the US, Iceland led by Wolf the Dentist Stanson and Gunner Stahl can play Argentina to a draw on neutral ground. but USMNT got their asses worked in their own back yard
