June 17, 20187 yr Watching it with my 9 year old. Had to do a bit of forcing, but he hasn't blinked since the gunfight scene in Abner's Nepal bar. Is there a better action movie?

June 17, 20187 yr Watched Predator with my 13 yr old the other day. It was solid as usual. It might be a better pure action flick.
June 17, 20187 yr Raiders of the Lost Ark is a perfect movie. Die Hard is great too -- probably a perfect action movie -- but I think Raiders is a better movie regardless of genre.
June 17, 20187 yr Also had Die Hard immediately pop in my head. You dont buy into the theory that Indiana Jones had zero impact on the events and outcome of Raiders?
June 17, 20187 yr Seven Samurai and Guns of Navarone . Probably Dark Knight and Mad Max too, but Raiders is top 5
June 17, 20187 yr I would put Raiders in a different category than Die Hard or Predator or The Terminator. But yes it is perfect.

It's usually dark by 5:30 in the winter. What bowl game is USC and Notre Dame playing on Christmas Eve? WHO schedules a company party on Christmas Eve?!?! I don't care how much cocaine there is, that's just bad etiquette.

Is there a better action movie? I'm so predictable. I searched "Raiders" to see if anyone had started a thread because I wanted to post that Raiders of the Lost Ark is a "perfect" movie. And I found this thread, which I started almost five years ago to say the basically same thing. The actual report is that I'm watching ROTLA again after almost five years. May 7, 20232 yr i feel like i have a different definition of "action movie" than some of you. plenty of great films being listed, but several of them are not what i would call action flicks.
May 7, 20232 yr The best movie ever made. Story, screenplay, dialogue, cinematography, SCORE, and acting were all perfect.

Ironically, having it lost in a wharehouse is probably a better way to keep it safe than in a desert.

May 7, 20232 yr These are all great movies but for pure action movie nothing compares to My Dinner with Andre.

The one thing I do remember is Monica Belluci basically saying she'd never work with Bruce Willis again, after she spent all her time on set telling him to fuck off and stop hitting on her.

May 7, 20232 yr Harrison Ford should have an award named after him or some shut. Dude is in the most iconic everyday films...

May 7, 20232 yr Agree with others that Raiders of the Lost Ark is in a different category than Die Hard, Terminator, etc. I also think everyone is sleeping on the best action movie - Aliens. The cast, the music, the pacing - it's all perfect. Nothing tops it for me.
May 7, 20232 yr Tell me this: What movie has more iconic set prices that T2? Escape from the mall Chased by a tow truck Escape from the mental hospital Blowing up Cyberdyne Highway chase Fight in the steel mill
