it is shocking how poorly we defend the three since beard left. if anyone out there still wonders just how much of it is the coaches and how much of it is the players, look no further than 2022-23 Texas. you subtract one person from a program of dozens, and it goes from an intense, smothering defensive team that is a favorite to make the FF, to a team with no identity that can give up 80, 90, 100+ points every night. it's unreal.

It's almost like that's our strategy.  Force them to win the games by taking 3's.

I've said it before, but our best lineup is with Cunningham at the 5.

If teams can't score inside this lineup is deadly.

Brock the sharpshooter

The miscommunication when it comes to who is supposed to be guarding who is getting to be a real beating.

I don't think this is breaking news.  That said, they're still playing pretty well.  Try to find a nugget of happiness in there.

Brock was 39.6 percent on 3’s coming into tonight according to stats printout, behind Carr at 40.5. (Anamakewe at 61).

Dude has been killing it

This small lineup is deadly because they have a big chasing Brock which is 1) not going to work and 2) it opens stuff up at the rim because the big is on the perimeter.

Brock is good. Just embrace it.

Sneaky athletic.  Sneaky good at basketball.  Etc.

All while looking like he just rolled out of bed after a night chasing tail

We have 3 timeouts. There's no reason to take that turnover on the Carr trap.

Whatever.

Not necessarily wrong.

Cunningham basically perfect tonight.  Only missed shot was the hail mary at end of 1h.  Which was ugly...but still...

What a bizarre thing to say.  "OK, now that I'm standing in as head coach, I need to take care of my health."

Really?  Were you working less before?  Yikes.  There's a great reason not to hire the guy right there. His drive is questionable.

Hey Brock, we're taking team photos today, so make sure you look presentable:

Love this guy...non-stop motor...rebounding machine...hits clutch threes...doesn't give a fuck.

Tied for 1st in the Big 12, bitches

If we can pull it off against Baylor and finish the first half 7-2, that would be incredible

These right here.

On a per-minute basis, don't think anyone on the team gets more criticism than Brock, yet the dude continues to ball and prove them wrong.

He's only a role player, but he plays an important role and has his entire time on The Forty.

Did the 5 second ref call that one?

What's the rule?  Does there need to be possession in the front court before 10?

Great W. Sloppy on D but ran the offense well all night and never let them get close in the 2H.

Needed to hold home court. Feels like we haven’t swept OSU in ages

Solid win.  17-3 and 6-2 is pretty damned salty, all things considered.

Lots of shit to improve on, we'll see how they handle the next 4 games.

Damn right. Hopefully we get atop the conference here in a minute or so...

I love the guy.  He's not the most talented guy on the floor, but he's nonstop effort and he's a clever player, too.

Some decent minutes from the freshmen tonight. They don't need to be great but just serviceable. Mitchell needs to keep hitting the offensive boards like he did in the 1st half because that's where his value is.

The guy has improved his game every year. He's gone from the intangibles dude to solid contributor. Now defenses have to consider him a scorer. It opens up the offense tremendously.
