Japan looks good.  It would be nice if we had an American who could teach large groups of kids at a very early age how to play soccer.  That could help our long term prospects.

That wouldn't be possible, though.

Five extra minutes, wow.

Also, got to hand it to the Colombians.  They're not giving up.  Still setting up chances.

Sometimes the Guyana, Suriname and other Dutch/English settled islands are not included.

Correct, sometimes. They tend to be lumped in with the Caribbean. hehe, and the Cubans and Dominicans get left out. No one counts the Haitians.

I've always been it being more of a Central American term. Probably a not fully correct assessment.

If they are in the Americas and their language derives from Latin then they are Latin American.

I don’t think it was a corner. I think it was a throw in.

They will be playing for their lives

gotta be honest, the Columbians didnt seem like they were in a hurry there.  Maybe if the closest guy to the corner sprinted to take a shot the ref might have allowed it, but they were lollygagging getting to the corner....

Literally.

Huge win for Japan but I still don't think that they make it to the next round. Gonna be a fun group to follow.

You guys do realize that Colombia really isn't dangerous anymore - right?

Hmm...maybe not.

Peñaranda too. But not because of football.

nippon's prior world cup wins (excluding 2002 on their own soil) were in South Africa over Cameroon and Denmark.  that's it before today.

this is a bit of a breakthrough for them as Colombia, even down a man and with no James until late, is still a step up.

this group already figured to be wide open, now it's total chaos.

We need Senegal to snatch a point (or three) against Poland for TOTAL CHAOS!!!

I got poland winning...i already got enough stuff going wrong for my group predictions

Hoping salah scores a few today and egypt beat russia

Carlos Sanchez doesn't stick his hand out and Colombia at least ties this one. I didn't see much from Japan, they were simply lucky. #notimpressed

User name confuses me.

Poland vs Senegal should be entertaining.

Also, I’m pulling for Egypt over Russia. They’ve never won a World Cup match and are due for one. Plus, imagine how pissed Putin would be lol

I’ve always wondered - why are there strict throw in rules anyway? Why not just let a player throw the ball in however he wants? One handed, two handed, underhand, overhead, who gives a shit,
