My point is next to football, its a sport that has high interest and fan bases that will follow and if the north Texas powers had to play in San Antonio year in a year out or heaven forbid further south, they’d be asking why can’t they have it up there. I mean at the top classification baseball is also pretty much dominated by DFW.

They have enough space and people moving to their area that it's pretty dumb to even do. Just build one massive high school, invest in super nice football stadium, indoor practice facility and they could become a power in SA. 40k homes are being built in that district area. Yeah that’s really stupid. They could’ve totally become a juggernaut, instead they’re giving more kids a chance to participate in stuff and reducing travel time to campuses.

Medina Valley should’ve focused on getting good the last few years and they haven’t. They would’ve been a perfect to follow a model like Lake Travis before they rose from mediocrity. True they don’t have the $$ like LT, but they are not begging for any either.

December 18, 20232 yr 2 hours ago, slorch said: Rotate the games. Make the 6A teams play on fucking Wednesday too. Logistically it has some validity. The argument used is the attendee angle and at least 3A through 6A, at least one of the teams is going to be within a two to three hour drive of the stadium. In 5A and 6A that will likely be less. Would a SOC, Duncanville, Aledo or DeSoto game on a Wednesday or Thursday draw a good number?

We built our house in the early 90s on a lot on Monroe that used to house a big boat the locals called The Ark. Coming from Port Arthur, I had not heard of it, as a child, but people who had been in Groves for a long time used to come by to see the house that was built where The Ark used to be.
