Man, how I wish my dad could have been here to see this. Biggest Rangers fan ever. I was on the phone with him in 2011 when we needed one more strike. I’ve never heard such a crushed, disappointed rea

Dunning did his part. Wasn't completely on his game but worked out of a couple of jams to stop any further damage.

Solid effort, again, by a starter.

We were lucky this was the A's is all I'll say while agreeing with you.

Nice win. Off a huge homestand with sellouts going into a mass of apathy and empty seats against a terrible team. Grind it out. Down early on but resiliency, again, comes to the forefront.

Undefeated in August, longest current win streak in the majors-- Houston has to be feeling dejected and maybe feeling a squeeze as Seattle has the second longest current win streak at 5 and after the Baltimore series they could feel the M's hot breath on their necks.

Agreed, but with the next 4 against OAK, not as urgent.
We sweep the A's and Houston gets swept by the surging O's, I think we can start a magic number countdown!

On the subject of 47, that (as of today) is the total games improvement over '22. Ended the season at 26 under .500. Now 21 over.

As it stands, Hyde and Bochy both deserve to be AL managers of the year.

Shaping up to be 97-65 year.

Pythagorean Theorem has us going 99-63.  Quite the surge from last season.

101-61, nice even 40 games over.

34-15 from here on out. Definitely doable.

Rangers starting lineup for August 8 at Oakland

Huff at DH, if I were on the A's I would take that as an insult.

Another day, another positive step for Jonah Heim.

Less than two weeks after he suffered a torn tendon sheath in his left wrist, Heim took batting practice for the first time on Tuesday. Heim took about 15-20 swings off pitching from hitting instructor Tim Hyers without issue and also caught a bullpen session. Manager Bruce Bochy said Heim could face “live” pitching as early as Monday and potentially return to the Rangers lineup sometime during the six-game homestand next week.

“It’s a 10 out of 10,” Heim said Tuesday. “It was good to go today. Just getting over the mental aspect of being able to do it was huge.”

The tentative plan is for Heim, a switch-hitter, to swing only from the left-hand side for the time being. The left wrist is non-dominant when swinging from the left side. It is more heavily involved on right-handed swings.

In Heim’s absence, the Rangers have found Mitch Garver to be both more durable and productive than perhaps was expected. Garver, who had three hits on Monday, started behind the plate for the third consecutive game Tuesday. It’s the first time he’s started three consecutive games behind the plate since May 2021 while he was with Minnesota.

Tuesday also marked Garver’s fifth start in the last six games. In six August games, Garver was hitting .455 (10 for 22) with two homers, two doubles and six RBIs.

Hopefully Robbie doesn’t get fucking turf monstered again.

Max has a Peter Stormare thing going on. A little Bo Pelini. Let’s go with Karl Hungus. image.jpeg.fdfb839890f8bf2646e81616f908d004.jpeg

Same lefty lineup.

The other options are lefty Jank or little Josh, horrific Hedges, kid Ornelas.

I’ve seen enough Huff. Gimme the kid.

There were maybe 1,000 people in that mausoleum last night. Less tonight.
What's a Wednesday day game going to look like tomorrow?
#4691

Such a fucking waste of tax and resources too given the astonishingly horrible housing shortage in the area

#4692

I was there last Saturday for the Giants game and it is night and day. There were lots of Giants fans but more than half were A's fans. This is just sad.

I'm assuming when Oakland leaves they will not really use that stadium anymore.

More vendors, stadlum personnel and players than people in the seats.
