Man, how I wish my dad could have been here to see this. Biggest Rangers fan ever. I was on the phone with him in 2011 when we needed one more strike. I’ve never heard such a crushed, disappointed rea

First walkoff Game 1 homer since Kirk Gibson…

I mean to be down 2 in the bottom of the 9th to have Corey save us. Then to have Jose F'ing LeClerc come in and throw two great innings to hold the tie. Then to have it come down to El Bombi launching one that didn't even seem like it should've gone that long is just some storybook Hollywood type shit. What an epic night of baseball.

Props to Taveras for looking terrible early on but drawing that 9th inning walk.

Yeah, he had a terrible game at bat and in the field before that walk totally redeemed himself.

I don't give shit how good Sewald's fastball is. To throw a first pitch fastball to Seager with a runner on in that situation when you have to know Seager is going to the plate hunting is just asking to FAFO

Congrats!

This is the first WS Game 1 win in Rangers history.

I have never heard of her, but she appears to be quite fuckable. Would be very fun to celebrate the win with.

Hedges looked like me tho. He did. I can do what he did.

We ALL could do what he did.

His at bat was simply putrid.

Great follow. Bigger Horns fan than even Rangers, supposedly MLB DM’d her this morning to say she was invited.

Any questions Adolis isn’t an Adonis. He slides and his jersey has a six pack. 054633d251d3608a6810cebd4f5e56a3.jpg

Ballpark Cam of the walk off. I love these things.

Congratulations.

My first was born at halftime of the 09 TX OU game.

My middle kid was born about an hour before kickoff the day Ricky broke the record.

Does this seem right? Doesn't seem right.

Corey's seemed like it went about 518.

Distance is just horizontal and has a lot to do with launch angle. Corey's exit velo was 112 - Pham's was 102.

What a game. What a team.

Adolis in the span of a week is close to supplanting somebody on the Rangers Mt Rushmore and he's taking it by force.

I don’t know. Ask his brother.

This is unprecedented, and we're watching it. What a blast that game was.

The most concern I had was after the 7th, when Semien, Seager and Carter went down quickly.

I still thought we just needed a base runner or two to get one more chance for the big bats.

Taveras walked of course, but the Heim walk in the 8th was massive.

It was a long AB. It got to 3-2 right away. Then Heim fouled off three straight. Heim didn't do much all game, and got abused by AZ's nightmare base runners, but that walk was huge.

One, it was off Ginkel who has been lights out. And hadn't walked anyone in 5 postseason innings and struck out 6.

Two, no runs that inning but it (and Garcia's seeing eye single just before) turned over the lineup.

It meant a 9th of Taveras Semien and Seager and not Jung Leody and Marcus.

And the Rangers had that one more chance.

Fucking baseball.

Game 2 motherfuckers.

Let's go Rangers.

I would love to see the decimal meter on that swing. That was as loud as incan rememeber.  Would love to compare bottom 9 and bottom 11

Seems like a something normally would happen to us in this situation, gut wrenching loss in the 9th.

That wry, nearly smile by Bochy, is classic.

Probably an unpopular opinion but I thought that was Bochys one horrible move all post season where he has been masterfully pushing the right buttons. It felt too much like an emotional (he loves Hedgie) to bring in a guy who has 0 post season ant bats and barely any all season and is just a clubhouse guy at this point and going for the story book ending. It was something dusty baker would do.

uh, he had to bat. Bochy pinch ran for Heim as the tying run on based. I think Bochy thought if we get to hedges(7th in the order at the time of the replacement) we've probably won the game anyway.  It wasn't a great move but I understand it a bit.

You’re stupid. You’re truly stupid.

Bochy wasn’t going for a storybook ending. The mistake (if you want to call it that) was going for the tie in the 8th. Heim walked and we pinch ran Smith so that a ball in the gap ties the game. Bochy then only had one available catcher unless we burn our DH.

I swear there are people in this thread that have 0 baseball knowledge or ability to actually watch a game and comprehend what’s happening.
Best game ever.
The question I have is, especially after another horrible night at the plate (0-5), are we going to win the WS with Semien basically being non-existent all postseason? That’s promising because imagine if he was hitting even half as good as he did in the regular season.

Nope. Impossible. We’ll never win a game where he goes hit less. We’re fucked.
Just now, BeardIP said:

Yea so you don’t pinch run Heim, is the underlying issue

sure you can 2nd guess that but it had nothing to do with a storybook ending having hedges bat...good cover try though.

It's a gamble, but when you get the tying run on that late in the game, might as well take a shot.  Jonah had caught every inning in the playoffs to that point and will catch the rest.  He doesn't have the wheels nor do you want him hurting himself trying to be something he's not.

Having said that, you would hope that Hedges could give you a better ab than flailing at three straight outside the zone as if it were his first time in the box.

But but but, STORYBOOK ENDINGS FOR HIS CLUBHOUSE GUY!!

I’ll take my lumps for being baseball stupid here then because I was assuming too that you could move Garver to catcher and bring in someone for DH. Didn’t realize he was committed to having to bring in Hedges.

Only Ohtani gets to do that

As long as Garver is DH, Hedges really is only on the roster so we can pinch run for Heim and in case Heim gets hurt.

And to get 3 outs on the mound here and there.

Hedges’ bad at bat was to set up the truly storybook hit later.

to be fair to Hedges those 3 pitches were going to be called strikes.  ESPN shows them all in the zone.

but yes, he had no chance.

You guys are overlooking Hedges calming veteran presence and pitch framing in LeClerc's 2 innings

Pitcher wanted no part of a storybook ending.

Adolis has hit 47 home runs and counting this season, 105 in his last 3 years and has made less than $3mn over that time.

I'm glad I was at the game last night and not at home and on here. Same goes for today. The regulars that have been here all season, even the ones I've sniped at, ain't bad overall. But you silly fucks that have just started showing up in the last 10-14 days are truly a goddamned beating. And yes I know Beard has been here under multiple usernames, but I thought we had that turd flushed with his last crowdsourcing. Need to fix that one.
