I guess they just needed to get out of Boston to suddenly look like a decent pitching team. The freaking Pirates are beating the Red Sox now, so they might not be a big juggernaut either. But the early season is always a little weird and besides until June I only am sort of paying attention, it is still UT Baseball season.

April 5, 20232 yr Josh: Quote Actually, the best thing might be to take a swig of that special 10-year-old Whistle Pig whiskey the Orioles sent over. Only one problem: “Right now it would probably burn the inside of my mouth.” He laughed a little. Because he could. A day earlier, he wasn’t sure that would be a possibility.

Not counting McKenna’s drop, O’s OFers misplayed at least a half dozen fly outs into xtrabase “hits.” Pitching wasn’t sharp, but it wasn’t a disaster.
April 5, 20232 yr We need to make a minor move with the bottom of our 40-man & bring in a veteran scrub like Culb (or Mathias) to hold down the bench. Zeke should be in RR playing every day.
April 5, 20232 yr Gonna' be chilly in Chicago. Cubs/Reds game was postponed today, so instead of missing Marcus Stroman we'll face him, Justin Steele (lefty), and Jameson Taillon.

I am accepting what the bullpen is providing. 😉 We didn't add much in the offseason, and it looks much better thus far. Bochy seems to know when to use guys, and he says there are good arms - a little surprising to me.
April 6, 20232 yr Was talking to my dad last night. Any idea the last time we played 4 regular season day games in a row? I can't remember that happening. Probably happened during pandemic right?
April 7, 20232 yr Fun trade, at least we’re only paying $2.5M. Quote Per local reports, Jake Odorizzi will miss the entire season after undergoing shoulder surgery. The man he was acquired for, LHP Kolby Allard, is on the 60-day Injured List with an oblique strain.

April 7, 20232 yr Stupid apple TV. It's like the MLB goes out of its way to make it hard for people to watch the games.
April 7, 20232 yr I gotta run, but here’s a stream for now. Yes, you have to close some annoying popups at first. http://dudestream.com/2023/04/07/colorado-rockies-vs-san-diego-padres-away-2/ Disregard the url.
April 7, 20232 yr Shut out in 2 of the last 4 games. 27 runs in the first two and 8 total in the next five. Yeesh.
April 8, 20232 yr Hope I'm wrong and get a "this post didn't age well", but this just feels like another dud of a game.
