Anyone own real property overseas (the UK, specifically)?

We're considering buying a flat in Glasgow, both for the boy's remaining years at university and as an investment/possible second home someday.  We're moving through this process kind of quickly, but as expat buyers, there look to be some significant wrinkles (extra stamp tax duties, limited field of lenders to work with, etc.).  Has anyone gone through this process before?  Any words of advice or caution?

We own property in Brazil. The only thing we deal with is property management/maintenance and taxes. I don’t have any advice except that if you keep it after he moves on and you rent it, it makes taxes kind of a pain in the ass.

As long as you say "at university" I'm pretty sure they have to give you dual citizenship. You may have to add a couple "on holiday" just in case.

So close. “At uni” is what you are looking for.

I guess the Scots are getting lazy.
