So start the season per Schefter and ESPN. For violating the personal conduct policy.

Don't think anyone could have seen that one coming.

this is the type of "quality" individual that aggy can look forward to jumbo protecting on campus

didn't click the tweets.  what did he do?

Supposedly an incident in Scottsdale a couple years ago, he hailed an Uber for him and his entourage, and the driver reported that he groped her crotch while they were waiting in a drive-thru lane for food. Jameis' defense at the time was he did hail the Uber but was not in the passenger seat. Like Ray Rice and some other cases, NFL began investigating after the incident went public.

Apparently he isn’t being punished for the incident itself, but the fact that he failed to notify the league of the incident.

Bullshit.

Got caught this time?

Jameis Winston will be flat broke within one year of his last season playing pro football.

That commie Goodell has different rules for different teams and different players, and it's not just my Cowboys bias. Shameis Jameis fucked half that suspension right in the pussy.

The baseline suspension for Winston's alleged behavior is a six-game suspension, and he'll get half that. Winston appears willing to accept the suspension, rather than appealing, which would expose the NFL to another protracted investigation/hearing process that could end up in court (think: Ezekiel Elliott P.R. debacle).

Writes PFT's Mike Florio, who it's worth noting has a law degree:

"Here’s a fact that further points to a bargain possibly being brokered: Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports that 'Winston’s suspension could be increased if he fails to meet certain undisclosed requirements expected to be imposed by the NFL.' That feels like the kind of term that would be added to a negotiated compromise aimed at wrapping things up easily, while also making it even easier to whack him with another penalty if he runs afoul of the NFL’s expectations."

Watch him win his appeal and only serve one or 2 games.

Is this not a slippery slope issue..? Unless there is video from the Uber, it becomes your word against the accuser...

And for the record, I am not saying that he didn't grab the chick's tacklebox...

As a Bucs fan, this pleases me. I fucking hate that average, groping piece of shit. I wish we would trade his ass and get a qb who knows what to do with more than Mike Evans. Dude had DeSean Jackson and barely did shit with him. OJ Howard deserves better, too.

Dude is trash on and off the field.

is it ok to tolerate those who tolerate those who steal?

Goodell should fall right behind Trump on deserving to be shot.

Makes sense why the NFL "grounded" him. He was within the tacklebox.

I don't Winston has ever been rehabilitated from his past actions, he only gets slaps on the wrist; where average citizens would be arrested & charged...

Agreed. He isn't that great at all. In fact, he's not even that good.

No argument from me. It's baffling why they keep him. He's average, and comes with baggage. Wtf? I swear that organization is run by monkeys. Dirk is a dipshit who hires an OC, yet calls the plays. At least we finally got a RB worth a shit (hopefully), rather than trotting out Charles Sims, Peyton Barber, and an oft-injured, ped using Doug Martin.

1st round draft picks usually get a bigger leash. Especially QBs. Teams just don't want to give up on them that easy. Which is understandable.

Oh I could definitely understand if he wasn't such a dick head and do stupid shit every chance he gets. The guy is a cancer, and he's not even that talented. He's a regard, who, without Mike Evans, would do as well as Akili Smith. At least our defense doesn't have a bunch of tards, other than Hargreaves.

Nov. 25, 2012: A woman calls 911 to report that there are two men on a bike path on the Florida State University campus with what appears to be a black, long-barreled pistol. Police respond and draw their guns as they approach Jameis Winston and his roommate and teammate, Chris Casher, and ultimately handcuff them. The two tell the officer they were shooting at squirrels with a pellet gun, and they are released without charges being filed.

Nov. 25, 2012: A few hours after the incident on the bike path, Winston, Casher and two other Florida State players, Mario Edwards and Kenneth “P.J.” Williams, allegedly engage in a BB- and pellet-gun battle at their apartment house, inflicting an estimated $4,000 in damage. Management at the apartment house declines to press criminal charges after an FSU athletic official vows that the players will pay for the damage.

Dec. 7, 2012: Winston is accused of raping a woman at his off-campus apartment. The woman reports the assault to police that day and five weeks later calls a detective and identifies Winston as her attacker after seeing him in a class. Tallahassee police drop the investigation, contending the woman has refused to cooperate, then revive it nine months later and sent it to State Attorney Willie Meggs. Meggs conducts a new investigation but concludes that there is not enough evidence to file criminal charges. Winston’s lawyer contends the sexual encounter was consensual.  The U.S. Department of Education later launches a federal investigation of the school’s handling of the incident after questions arise about whether Florida State followed the provisions of Title IX, and in August 2014 the school launches an investigation of Winston under the student code of conduct.

July 21, 2013: Winston is accused of entering a Burger King in Tallahassee and helping himself to soda from the fountain machine without paying for it. A restaurant employee later tells police she gave Winston a cup of water but that he poured the water out and helped himself to several cups of soda despite her objections. No charges are filed.

April 29, 2014: Winston is accused of stealing $32.72 worth of crab legs from a Tallahassee supermarket. He is given a civil citation that allows him to perform community service and is suspended from the FSU baseball team until he completes that work. Winston tells police he “forgot” to pay for the crab legs and publicly apologizes.

May 20, 2014: Winston is expected at a code-of-conduct hearing for Chris Casher and Ronald Darby, two FSU teammates who alleged the witnessed a portion of the sexual encounter involving the quarterback and the woman who accused him of rape. They are both accused of violating school rules. Winston does not show up for the hearing, and his lawyer contends that no one from the school ever asked him to be there – something that is disputed by attorneys involved in the process. However, FSU officials later acknowledge that they have no way to force a witness to attend a code-of-conduct hearing.

Sept. 16, 2014: Winston is seen by several students jumping up on a table on campus and screaming a sexually charged expletive-laced phrase that was made popular on the internet. FSU head football coach Jimbo Fisher suspends Winston for the first half of the team’s upcoming game with Clemson, and school officials vow that he will be subject to “internal discipline” – most likely under the school’s code of conduct. Winston apologizes.

^^ That's just two year's worth.

This incident has been a big learning experience for Jameis Winston.
