June 28, 20232 yr I think I read that sometime today will mark exactly 1/2 of the MLB 2023 season's game being played.
July 1, 20232 yr they are absolutely teeing off on the 2nd place marlins tonight. they are going to go 21-4 in the month of june and enter july with a 7 game division lead.
July 1, 20232 yr This lineup is mashing right now. Pitching is more than respectable today, and if we can get Soroka pitching anything close to his 2019 season and Fried back healthy, the only thing missing would be a dominant closer. This team fucks.
July 1, 20232 yr holy shit this marlins pitcher hadn't given up a run in 21 innings coming in to this game and the braves chased him after 1/3 of an inning.
July 3, 20232 yr And have passed the Rays for best record in all MLB. 8 mofos going to All-Star. Damn hard to be humble, though who's trying.
July 3, 20232 yr This team man, this one and a half month stretch has to rival those dominant 90s teams. Ron Washington's entire infield is going to the All-Star game.
July 10, 20232 yr 24. Atlanta Braves: Hurston Waldrep, RHP, Florida Who is Waldrep? While many pitchers taken this early in the draft are known for their velocity, it's a devastating split-change that comes to hitters at 85-89 mph and drops sharply just before it gets to home plate that has Waldrep going this high. Although his overall ERA this season was an underwhelming 4.16, look no further than his postseason performance to see why he's so highly regarded. The Florida right-hander struck out 12 batters against UConn in the regional round, followed by 13 against South Carolina over eight scoreless super regional innings, and then K'd 12 Oral Roberts batters over six innings at the College World Series. Why the Braves took him here: Because they've been pretty good in recent years in drafting college pitchers and getting them quickly to the majors (see 2023 All-Stars Spencer Strider and Bryce Elder). From a stuff standpoint, Waldrep is more Strider than Elder, which speaks to the upside here -- besides the splitter, he also hits 99 mph with the fastball. He fanned 156 batters in 101 2/3 innings for the Gators and while the control has to improve, the Braves' track record makes this an intriguing selection.
August 1, 20232 yr i realize they are 30 games over .500 and drastic moves probably shouldn't be in order, but man oh man what i wouldn't give for them to go all in on this season and trade for blake snell. i'd also like to see them upgrade at dh or lf, but if i had to pick 1 move to make it'd be going and getting blake snell.
August 9, 20232 yr came up clutch in the 9th. really thought they were about to drop another one. i think they're gonna regret not doing anything big at the deadline. the offense is elite, but unless fried and strider are too i'm just not sure they have enough.
August 13, 20232 yr So Olson, Albies, Riley have played every single defensive inning of the season. Is it just some kind of running joke now? Is he scared to sit one? 21-3 in the first game, Lopez has a monster, he still starts all three in the nightcap. It's really weird.
August 13, 20232 yr I just don't get why he doesn't pull them in blowouts. They've only carried one backup IF all season, & he absolutely would not play Culb.
August 13, 20232 yr i'd just like to take a moment and acknowledge the fact that it's august 13th and matt olson has more home runs than the braves do losses.

I know we are kind of beat up as far as the staff is concerned, but Elder, Strider (youth) and Morton (old age) need some rest before we get to the playoffs. Elder and Strider haven’t thrown this many innings in their life and Morton is almost 40. It seems to be taking its toll as all 3 haven’t been as sharp the past month (yes, Strider did good last night). We aren’t really in a pennant race and have some AAA pitchers who are serviceable against lesser teams, so don’t see the harm in these guys skipping a start or two before the playoffs.
August 15, 20232 yr Damn, I jinxed the shit out of that. Quote The Braves are placing Ozzie Albies on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain, manager Brian Snitker told reporters. Albies left the field early on Sunday with what the club called “hamstring cramping” and did not play in the series opener against the Yankees the following night.
August 20, 20232 yr Eddie looking like he's in 2021 NLCS form after a slump. Fucking Chirinos being trotted out there is making the bats have to save this game.
August 20, 20232 yr that was an awesome win though. every time the braves would come back and tie it up, the giants would immediately re-take the lead in the top half of the inning (usually by multiple runs). but the braves just kept coming and then yeah, the 2021 nlcs mvp did his thing in the bottom of the 8th. it was a really fun win.
August 24, 20232 yr Author On 2/23/2023 at 11:23 AM, EZ$ said: We really need Ozuna to get back to being a .270, 30-35 homer guy and Acuna to get back to his 2019, top 5-10 player in the game form. Bingo.
August 24, 20232 yr lol yeah ask and you shall receive. if my math is correct, the magic number to win the division sits at 23.
August 31, 20232 yr big four game set with the dodgers starts tonight. braves currently have a 4 game lead over the dodgers for the best record in the nl so i'd think a simple split here would likely ensure that the braves finish with the best record in the NL and get homefield throughout the playoffs.
September 4, 20232 yr magic # updates: 12 over philly to win the nl east, 21 over the dodgers to finish with the best record in the nl.
September 11, 20232 yr magic # for the nl east is now 6. start a four game set with the phillies with a double header tomorrow. win 3 of the 4 games and the division is locked up before the middle of september.

September 14, 20232 yr Let us motherfucking go bitches!!! Moved up to Portland, OR a couple months ago and it's crazy how many Braves fans I've ran into up here.
September 14, 20232 yr division clinched on september 13th and matt olson has more home runs than the braves do losses. awesome stuff.
September 28, 20232 yr score ten runs in the first inning tomorrow so i don't get my heart ripped out 3 days in a row
September 28, 20232 yr Has Atlanta clinched top everything yet? I need Arizona to have something to play for against Houston, and so you need to let the cubs win one.
September 28, 20232 yr i think baltimore could theoretically still pass them for overall record and home field in a hypothetical WS matchup, but that's about all that is left and it is extremely unlikely (i think the braves' magic number over them is 1). everything else is settled.
October 5, 20232 yr gonna have the chance to avenge some of last year's demons by playing the phillies in the NLDS again.
October 10, 20232 yr awesome fucking win tonight. gotta admit, i thought they were toast when d'arnud threw the ball into center field which indirectly led to philly's 4th run. but he atoned himself with the 2 run bomb and then riley followed suit in the 8th and then they ended the game on an awesome walkoff double-up when harper thought he was going to score the game tying run. good shit. i worry about the pitching, but if the offense actually shows up they can slug their way to wins.
