June 5, 20205 yr There's something happening hereWhat it is ain't exactly clearThere's a man with a gun over thereTelling me I got to beware I think it's time we stop, children, what's that soundEverybody look what's going down There's battle lines being drawnNobody's right if everybody's wrongYoung people speaking their mindsGetting so much resistance from behind It's time we stop, hey, what's that soundEverybody look what's going down What a field-day for the heatA thousand people in the streetSinging songs and carrying signsMostly say, hooray for our side It's s time we stop, hey, what's that soundEverybody look what's going down Edited June 5, 20205 yr by Cairn Horn88
June 6, 20205 yr I'm gonna raise a fuss, I'm gonna raise a hollerAbout a-workin' all summer just to try to earn a dollarEvery time I call my baby, try to get a dateMy boss says, "no dice son, you gotta work late"Sometimes I wonder what I'm a-gonna doBut there ain't no cure for the summertime blues.

June 21, 20205 yr something just clicked on Father's Day. My own father can rot in hell. My sons make Father's Day one that I look forward too. Song properly captures the ying and yang of today.

June 27, 20205 yr I love Fleurie's voice. Nashville does more than country. Warning - sweet song coming.

June 30, 20205 yr Darrell Scott has a new album called "Sings The Blues of Hank Williams". He reimagines Williams' songs as blues tunes. Even though Williams didn't write this, it was primarily thought of as a Hank song. Well, Darrell kills it by adding in some minor chords. The entire album is incredible.
June 30, 20205 yr This is bizarre for me, but I heard a snippet of this song on an HBO Max commercial called "Purple Hat." Which led me to an EDM/House "band" called Sofi Tukker. Maybe they're super-famous, I wouldn't know. Songs have been used in a few commercials. A bunch of earworms and the two kids making up the band seem really charming and unaffected. Apparently, they've done a live stream of music and discussion together every day since the pandemic emergency was declared. He's an ex-Ivy League basketball player and they met at Brown. The chick kind of shreds in a minimalist way. Edited June 30, 20205 yr by TwiceHorn

Maybe it was seeing footage of them doing it live that raised my eyebrow during the ascending bridge. Edit- Hank K touched on the same sentiment, and I even repped without remembering. July 7, 20205 yr She's just a force. Plus, you know, she can actually sing. Thoughtful. Progressive. Honest. This song speaks to me ... I've brought shame on my family, I've caused the people I love to stumble, and I've stumbled myself. But that's not me; I want to be a blessing to people I meet, I want to help people back to their feet.

July 7, 20205 yr I can't stop listening to Austin's own Rickshaw Billie's Burger Patrol. It scratches several itches for me. Might fit into the noise thread I started, but they have a ton of groove.
July 13, 20205 yr I've been out of the loop with music over the last few years, and trying to play some catch up during these fucked up times we live in. Finally heard a Phoebe Bridgers song on Sirius and was immediately hooked. Song has an Elliott Smith/Sufjan Stevens melody and vibe that I really dig. The rest of her stuff I've been listening to is great as well. Edited July 13, 20205 yr by Hank Kingsley
