The Van Nuys Blvd cruising thread took me back to the 80's

Fleetwood Mac - “Tusk”

this and atomic dog is how i would summarize power tools in the early 90s.

The ascending outro is a ...cheap trick *rim shot*.

Doesn't matter. Sea Change is Beck taking you on a earth heaving plunge into heartbreak and the symphonic swells at the end are the tear wells in your eyes.

Yes!  Hadn't heard that in years.  I still know the lyrics.  I wonder how stupid I must have looked blasting this down the road in my '91 Berretta, hat on backwards, earring in each ear.... on the way to the rec center to play some ball.

This song that uses a pantam and didgeridoo

Feeling fairly surly today and trying to snap out of it while I hack up some meat in the kitchen for tomorrow. Seems like a “music to break shit to” kinda afternoon

Started with Hanging In The Balance by Metal Church. Then The World Won’t Miss You by Reverend.

Balls deep into some Comeau-era Annihilator right now.

And this one, from Ace's new record. Robin Zander does a damn good Steve Marriott.

Rows and rows of disused milk floats stand dying in the dairy yard
And a hundred lonely housewives clutch empty milk bottles to their hearts

The elder statesmen of the Bay Area rock scene, playing alongside Heart, Eddie Money, and Sammy Hagar in the early days.

Respect must be given. Especially in this goddam household.

God bless Dave Meniketti.

One of my favorite songs on the year so far

rolled to this and a few from the soundtrack on a recent road trip across the west

I put it in one of these damn threads but can't find it now. This album is fucking fire. Ew is like the 7th best song on it and that's not a slight

Ew is by far the best song but YMMV. His songwriting left a lot to be desired for me on the rest of it.

Wow really? I'd go Daylight, Pretty Boy, 777, Your Man, Run, and probably High Hopes. I guess his style is just my jam or something but I can roll through most of the album without skipping

I like Run a lot, even if it's a shameless Weeknd rip. The guitar solo at the end is kind of off putting and unnecessary. I guess that's how I feel about most of the other songs - they're almost great songs with a couple of things I get hung up on.

Grateful Dead, Fire On The Mountain (live).

In the hot tub, are an edible a half hour ago, sipping a gin and tonic while listening to Wish You Were Here front to back.  This may be my favorite Pink Floyd album.

Watching the 2018 Paul McCartney at ACL Music Festival set right now.  I think it's weekend 2.

I will never not be in awe of Paul McCartney and his 60 years of wonderful music.  Changes between eras, instruments, and keys so effortlessly.

And for some reason, it always makes me miss John and George.  And it should't, because Paul's shows are so amazing.  But it does.

Yep.  Her name is Patty Kelly.  Last time I saw her she was living in Venice Beach with her husband who was in the movie business and she was 7 months pregnant with her first kid.

stupid but fun listening:

I love me Maggie Rogers and Sigrid... and Kelsey Grammar too... female vocalists are so good recently
