My father in law bought me this record for Xmas last year.

Really loved the new Blur tune

This is a really, really fucking good song. I can't speak for those of you that came of age in the 80s who probably hate it by this point.

Jenny Lewis is one of the great American singer-songwriters.

Can’t wait for her new album to drop.

A couple of songs from the new album:

Okay. I'm going to say this is the happiest song in the world. If not number 1 there are not many ahead of it.

Ran across this video of a German lass covering Led Zeppelin's "Rain Song," and I dig it.  She's got a nice voice.

Those last 2 was just shit I was listening to and songs I enjoy.

This is maybe top 30 songs all time for me territory.

And I think that^ and this should potentially occupy the same spot.

I think for each of them the best song they had in them was unobtainable as a group - or with each other. Both of the above beat any Eagles song ever for me.

@yoladu and @MC Fresh Breath,

sigur ros put out a new single today...first one in a while.  turn it up loud and it is really nice.  it fits in album wise the most with valtari but it is beautiful and large in sound.

I can't say "beat" but mostly agree.

Joe has a songwriting catalogue that's still underappreciated.

The Classical Music thread motivated me to pull out one of my top 10 favorite albums, if you said top 5 I wouldn't argue. Bach, got dam Bach. Listen to the "complex simplicity" of this. I know that's a contradiction in terms, but for me it defines what I am hearing. The Flentrop at the top of it's game. The King of Instruments indeed. And Biggs. Biggs is a fucking monster. I am never sorry I put this album on.

Trying to sus this kid out. He seems like a derivative douchebag that I should hate but I can't quit this track. Maybe Weezer had a rare moment of brilliance and helped him be less boring.

It gets better as it goes on.

This is my friend's band Saint Blonde, you've probably never heard of them... This is my favorite song of theirs:

The Juvenile Tiny desk that’s been going around on social media is actually pretty good.  But did anyone in the early 2000’s actually think Manny Fresh is like 4 feet tall?   Lol.  They hid that shit back in the day.  I know he’s sitting for the first part but he stands later.

Been hooked on Steely Dan lately. I never listened to them until this year.

It's strange that when I listen to their music, I feel like I'm transported into a dimly lit apartment with open windows, scotch in my hand, doing a shuffle while waiting for friends to show up for a few more drinks. And of course I'm wearing a shirt with a big collar.

Just checked out the new Dale Watson album on Spotify.  I'd read good reviews of it, but it is not what I was expecting at all, very acoustic, blues oriented.  Digging the hell out of it actually, nice change of pace for Dale.

That record totally holds up, doesn't it?

Very simple songs, but they're catchy, they have hooks everywhere, and the vocal performances are fantastic.

I don't know what genre this is. Math rock? Shoegaze? I like it.

And some nice variety in vocals from Invent Animate, not just straight up screaming.

I watched The Wrecking Crew after the final round of the Open, and that sent me down a weird path of oldies and the Beach Boys and finally to Glen Campbell.
