I actually don't think Arky fans will cry over 2 consecutive trips to Austin.  Not like aggy.

They wanted this game annually more than any other game. They would have willingly said yes to pretty much any stipulation by Sankey to get this game to be on their schedule every year.

Oh yes aggy would cry like a spoiled brat having his/her candy taken away from them  by their parents on Halloween.  Much like they did on smaller scale when Sankey broke the so called "Gentlemen's agreement."   All the usual UT people would be blamed for their influence starting with ESPN, the t-sip dominated Texas legislature, the Longhorn Network,  who else?

Arky does have a sizeable base of aggy like fans too.

I'm 100% onboard with aggy though. Carry on there.

Nope, I did not.

I only typed Jawja this one time as my small bit to honor the long-ago Jones Top Ten, which probably nobody else remembers.

Carry on.

That would make sense. When I googled it I just got something about Roblox, which as far as I can tell is a game about off-brand lego people.

That’s OK, as I know his fanbase grew with the addition of Texas.  He could also do a stand-up comedian show through the South.

Hook’em!!!

I vote that we also add “Gata” to the Stupid Bullshit List?

I mean, at least 'Gata has a funny fucking origin story. And by funny, I mean sad and pathetic.

knowing there will be repeats from this year......

again here is the list we haven't played as league games (last/this year)

Alabama

Auburn

LSU

Mississippi

Missouri

South Carolina

Tennessee

since we recently played bama the 2 most attractive AND competitive are LSU and Tennessee

i will consider today's announcement a major win for us if we get both (alternating home/away) for 26 & 27

so 2026 home: LSU

2027 home: Tennessee

everything/anything else is gravy as long as they don't add Alabama/Georgia also alternating 26 & 27

that would be a bitch

That shouldn’t happen, if you believe the releases from the front office.

You play everyone over the course of 2 seasons, then flip. After 4 seasons you will have played every team home and away.

If that is to be believed, then every year your (non-protected) slate of 6 will change from the year before. Meaning (allegedly) that there won’t be repeats in back to back years for your non-protected 6 game schedule.

If we don’t get one of Bama/Georgia in 26 wouldn’t we definitely get both in 27 or am i misunderstanding?

the way i read the long cat from the league is 26 flips in 27, 28 flips in 29, with the 3 regulars each year in some combination of home/away, and there WILL be repeats from 24/25 in 26/27

the league could absolutely give us bama/georgia/lsu/tennessee *ALL* in *BOTH* 26 *AND* 27

and that would be a bitch - but they kill their texas tv bellcow for 28 and 29 if they do that

shirley can't happen

If I'm understanding your intent correctly, then I don't think so.

You'll see the same teams in 26 and 28 but with reversed home/away.  And you'll see the same teams in 27 and 29 but with reversed home/away.

It'll look like this:

2026: A B C @D @E @F

2027: G H I @J@K @L

2028: @A @B @C D E F

2029: @G @H @I J K L

I was fucking around on ChatGPT trying to figure out how much Arch coming back would be worth to Disney (incremental as opposed to just normal hype from Texas games v a good team) with this schedule:

scrub, scrub, Ohio state, aggy, OU, Arkansas, bama, Auburn, TN, Ole Miss, LSU, South Carolina which is our most likely schedule if we don’t repeat games, and back of the envelope was like 150M in extra money. That presumes arch is a Heisman contender and Texas is a top 5 type team. They had the Texas schedule as worth 450 or 500M under that scenario.

What metric is ChatGPT using to calculate Arch's monetary value to Disney? Nielson ratings?

Even with TXST and UTSA, that's the toughest schedule on paper we've ever had.

Personally, I'd rather play the non-rival SEC teams B2B years. TV is missing out on "payback games" with this model. Too much roster turnover.

Agree, I've said the same thing since hearing about it.

Unlike this season, next year's "cupcakes" aren't exactly scrubs. UTSA and Texas State are good non-P4 programs if those two coaches remain at each spot. May not mean a ton for the mouse, but I doubt either game is relegated to SECN+, so it's something.

was that just regular season or does that include playoff runs this year and next

Yes. Ratings and share. I think it’s probably pretty close. I didn’t just put in a question and call it a day there was a lot of back and forth and research. Seemed to think if arch is a Heisman guy he will be (at least) the most valuable (money) player since Tebow.

For sure. There is some  value to just staying off plus (be that sec or espn plus version).
if arch finishes the season strong I would bet he’d be worth 20M to espn at a minimum in NIL.
I know that’s not how it works.

1 hour ago, Hagbard Celine said:

Just next years regular season (might have had sec title game in there). Said if Texas won national title that you could be looking at another 100M in elevation of ratings compared to a normal season.
Also, if arch has a banger of a season against ordered row there will be a bit of a halo affect where casuals that start watching CFB for arch jump in and watch non arch games.

As i tune in to the SEC show….Please baby Jesus lets have Aggy come back to Austin in ‘26 for the meltdown

Game dates for the 2026 schedule won't be revealed until December.

😑

Ole Miss in Austin next season

SEC scheduling show confirms non-rivals will skip a year before the rematch.

For example, if we play Ole Miss at home in 2026, we don't play in Oxford until 2028.
