I’m still confused on how a Pittsburgh/auburn bro is on a Texas message board when we really never play either team

I explained it to you a couple years ago. You dismissed my explanation. I don’t really care. I wasn’t aware that you were The Gatekeeper.

I'm now seeing why Pitt is #108 in adjD. They don't play a lick of defense.

I’ll forever question what happened to Iowa State. Pitt is - not very good.

Yeah, they're #62 in kenpom and pretty terrible defensively for a power conference team. Just a bad day for Iowa State I guess.

They shot like 23% from the field.

I like Capel, a lot.

But don't count on X shooting 22% for the game. :)

He has really done a fantastic job. I’m sure most people don’t realize just how bad it had gotten at the end of Jamie’s tenure and then into the Stallings Disaster.

Capel has had to clean up a massive mess. There were players sleeping with the girlfriends of teammates. Fights in the locker room. Transfers, Carr, X. Johnson, Champaigne left for NBA, etc etc. Then, our big fella inside got in trouble his freshman year. This year our top recruit got in trouble so, the off the court issues have been numerous.

He’s done a good job of giving them the back of his hand, as well as a hand up. I commend him for that.

About midway through the season all the guys I sit with at the games came to the conclusion that everything after that point was gravy. This has been a very successful season, no matter what happens today.

Yeah, I want us to win but, I won’t be crushed if we don’t.

Funny, the pass here, to Rome, was from Sean.

I think sometimes there's an advantage to playing those play in games. You get your feet wet in the tournament while the other team comes in cold.

Pitt is done. No resistance on the defensive end but that's not surprising  if you looked at how their season went.

TCU +4.5 vs. Gonzaga looks really good.  Are we going to root for the Zags? I don't have a reason to hate TCU basketball, go Frogs!

Fuck TCU.  But, I have them winning that game.  Also, fuck TCU.

People mocking the Big 10 but the ACC is even worse.

Duke, Virginia, and now Pitt all going down. How the hell did this Pitt team finish at the top of the conference?

Hey @Underdog I know last night you promised to go to church.  Be glad you didn’t go with me. The last clip before the preacher talked was Duke and that shot against y’all. Topic of what to do when everything feels hopeless. That would be a tough beat for you.

Pitt is playing (no) defense like it's an NBA all-star game.

Every Xavier shot has token resistance at best.

Xavier is going to be a challenge

Yeah, it's now very clear why they're #109 in adjusted defense. Xavier is hitting shots but this is just awful defense. Not a single shot contested.

Is Pittsburgh using rope-a-dope defense allowing Xavier to score themselves into exhaustion?

Pittsburgh stinks

It got way too much credit from that vaginal effort by Iowa State. Vaginal is being kind.

I didn't watch the Iowa State game but guessing Pitt used the same strategy of just leaving guys wide open on the perimeter and pray Iowa State misses.

Am I wrong?

Texas v Xavier is an interesting matchup. They’ve never seen a D like Texas, and Texas has perhaps not seen an offense this year as efficient as theirs.

They’ll likely rotate doubles on Disu inside and force perimeter offense.

Texas is going put Carr and Disu in pick and roll all night against Nunge. He's not mobile on the perimeter. Kennesaw State was terrorizing Nunge all night running the same action.

They didn't have to do much of any praying.

Correct.

PItt playing a zone most of the 1st half against a team like Xavier is certainly a choice but I guess they have no choice with how bad they are defensively.

I didn’t get to watch that first round game - good insight. Xavier is red hot today, let’s let them get that out of the system.

Fuck him then.

#25 for Pitt has to jump around in the shower just to get wet.

I really don't get why Pitt stayed in the zone. You can't just let a team keep shooting wide open 3s when they're making them.

The interesting part of the Xavier match up will be if we want to run with them or make it a half court game.

The white guy who is 5/5 for 3 is keeping them way out in front. Rest of the team has been poor from 3.

Kunkel is going to get Funked against us

It’s frankly kind of impressive Pitt made it this far in the season with a defense like this. I don’t see how it’s possible.

There was a pretty crazy state about first four teams winning the next game in the round of 64 over the last 5 years or so (maybe beyond that)

Pitt has a mini-Chet but he hasn't done anything that I've seen.

Wait, they have two of them? (I just woke up on the west coast.)

Not having Federiko for this game hasn’t helped at all but, he wouldn’t have done anything to stop Xavier’s torrid shooting from outside, 8/19 from 3 and 50% overall.

IDK how you can assess Xavier’s offensive potential against Texas based on this game. Even with the mental lapses on D last night, Texas was so “doomed” against the two powerhouse offenses they just played. Then the announcers were dumbfounded about how Texas was able to disrupt these offenses. Xavier will be a challenge but I like Texas’ chances if they play D like the B12 tournament.

Either that or very fast at swapping shoes.

You can't. Texas is going to be a 100 spots better in adjD than Pitt after this game. It's comparing apples to oranges.
