June 23, 20187 yr Never did get to see Pantera but saw Hellyeah live several times. Have a drum stick and an autograph from VP.
June 23, 20187 yr Damn. I’m guessing some guys in here have VP stories.RIPI drank with him and Darrell at the clubhouse.Looks like I’m pouring out a few black tooth grins tonight.

June 23, 20187 yr Fuuuuuck. I'll sum up my thoughts when I'm sober. But damn, I didn't expect this one. Fuuuuuck.
June 23, 20187 yr Damn man, just got the crushing news. His drumming was just so damn punchy and groovy. I remember sitting in my buddy’s car after he spent too much on an after market stereo and just blasting CFH. Never did seem him live. RIP Vin, I’m sure you’re jamming with Dime now. Wake up heaven!

June 23, 20187 yr Has cause of death been released? He was damn young8 years younger than me. Just awful.
June 23, 20187 yr Fuck this news...met Vinnie (and all the band members) in 94 at The Back Room after their warm-up show for the Far Beyond Driven tour under the clever alias Cowboys From Hell. Very fucking cool guy. Dime was an awesome guy too...phil- not so much... Several years later, I'm at some Mexican place in Dallas waiting on the patio and this beat up retro limo complete with bull horns mounted on the hood pulls up and out comes Vinnie and the guys from HellYeah....I said hey to Vinnie and mentioned the CFH show and he gets a huge grin and said " now THAT was a crazy fucking show!" ...and he was right. Pantera was on top of the world at that moment. Still the most intense and violent crowd I've been in RIP Vinnie. Will have to blast Vulgar today in your honor
June 23, 20187 yr I hope Alex Van Halen doesn't try to stuff a set of drums in his casket.I hope he does
June 24, 20187 yr Well it went peacefully as we should all hope for. I’ve loved you and your brothers music. Sleep well brother and keep kicking ass.
June 24, 20187 yr Drinking whiskey and listening to the boys. So much good stuff. Rise is a favorite with some wicked drumming.
June 24, 20187 yr I'm not particularly a fan of metal, but it's kinda hard to be any kind of a music consumer in Texas and not appreciate Pantera. Sorry to hear this. Anybody have a link to the song they wrote for the Stars?
June 24, 20187 yr RIP Vinnie, by all accounts you were one of the good guys in a genre filled with egotistical assholes. Too soon, but say hey to time for me.

June 25, 20187 yr Oh yea watching the stars skate out to that was bad ass.Buddy of mine had a good ticket hookup. Went to a bunch of games in that era.
June 27, 20187 yr First part of Burr's podcast from Monday is him talking Vinnie and telling some stories.
June 27, 20187 yr I see the public memorial will be at the Bomb Factory on Sunday, July 1. That’s ten hours round trip and a pissed off wife for me so I’d like to give someone my surly proxy. Nonetheless I’ll pour one out at 3:33. RIP Vinnie
June 28, 20187 yr If you're interested, there is a guy that breaks down songs by track and vocals and he breaks down I'm Broken in honor of Vinnie Paul. You can hear it by searching klos sessions on soundcloud. I'm no musician but love music and he does a pretty great job breaking down and explaining it to the layperson.
