Unfortunately no fender tag, it was taken off in prior work.  VIN is BP23G0Bxxxxxx
B = Plymouth Barracuda
P = Premium, Gran Coupe
23 = 2 Door Hardtop
G = 318 230HP 1-2BBL 8 CYL
0 = 1970
B = Dodge Main, Hamtramck, MI, USA

https://www.hamtramck-historical.com

Check that website out, they have documents to ALOT of hamtrack cars and all you have to do is show proof your the owner and they'll mail anything they have matching your VIN for free. Why I love the mopar hobby.

Swap that 2 barrel set up out for a 4 barrel and it will feel like a world of difference [emoji869]

    So I bought this today.    Will be at the house in a week.   1974 full engine rebuilt in 2022 with upgraded bits.

  • Been wanting to do this for a while, had a terrible time finding what I wanted, but now it's done. I picked up a 1979 Camaro over the weekend. Runs strong and drives, has a 350. The interior is...not

  • 4 months later, finally some paint.

this guy knows

Not a fan of 71 Mopar B bodies but that black roadrunner is beautiful. The 69 Dodge Daytona is pure sex! Great job on the pix, love it.

I love the fuel cap on the Daytonas stamped with FUEL, like, d'uh what else goes there.  Saw an orange 69 DAYTONA with a four speed this past weekend. How prevalent were the manuals ?

Some E body mopars have the Fuel flip cap, my 70 challenger had that. It was an option the buyer had to pay for.

Production numbers are broken out by engine/trans combos so unless you know the engine then it's hard to say. However here is some numbers to dissect.

Only 503 Charger Daytonas were built, 433 were 440 Magnum, 139 4-Speed and 294 Torqueflite; 70 were 426 Hemi power, 22 4-Speed and 48 Torqueflite.

Daytona were only built in 69. Then Plymouth made their version the Superbird, which was only made in 70. Then both were banned from Nascar.

My middle son (pre-tattoo days) - he drove that thing all over the western states during the summers of the mid 1990s until the engine blew about 50 miles out of Fort Stockton. It had stars & planets hand painted all over the inside of the roof, plus Phish and Onward Thru The Fog stickers on the back window.

They air out the mullets in the car.

Am surprised you didn’t know that.

Thinking about a cosmetic resto modification for my 65 Mustangs dash board. The dash is metal painted red to match the car with a black plastic gauge pod, black glove box, and a couple other openings for radio and heater fan controls.  Whoever restored the car didn't do anything to the exposed metal portions of the car, other than paint it, and it's kind of poorly done.  flat paint, scratches and dings in the metal. I don't want to have to pull everything out to sand, and repair all the little dings, and replace the poor paint job.  That can really open up a can of worms potentially.

I'm thinking about some type of adhesive covering for those exposed metal areas between the dash board gauges and glove box. Thinking about a self adhesive Black carbon fiber vinyl, faux leather vinyl.  Thought about a wood grain veneer product, but don't think I can make the transitions cleanly with something that may not be pliable enough.

It's basically flat with clean transitions as it rolls down and across the face of the dash so making something adhere should be a doable, without wrinkles or weird corners at the transition locations.

Still thinking thru the logistics of making it work as a single sheet of material hopefully, so no visible seams anywhere.

What is the deal with people putting stickers all over their cars, inside and out? I bought a '94 MX-5 last year, wanted a cheap convertible to cruise around town. It's great but the previous owner had stupid stickers on every window. Getting them off was easy but I can still see the outline on the glass.

A couple of weeks ago, I bought a gauge hood and rear bumper from a guy and both were covered in stickers. I understand that most of these cars are little shitboxes and will never be a show car but really? Maybe I'm just an old fuck, or maybe they're just young morons. I spent this afternoon trying to peel off stickers without scratching the gauge hood, so maybe I'm the moron? Either way, fuck stickers.

Dude, they’re tuners.  Milodon stickers gets you 2hp.  Moroso 3hp, Holley gets you 5. It’s not a ton but it adds up.

When I had my hot rod, I had a ton of stickers from ordering parts. I was thinking about drag racing it. You can register and get money for the decals after you start finishing high enough. I couldn’t bring myself to ruin the car.

Meh, this one time, I licked a hot rod sticker off a chicks chest....

After 11 months of waiting my restored dash from Instrument Specialities arrived today. Truly a phenomenal restoration job, while the wait was longer than I wanted it was worth it.

I've got to pull the heater box and install some insulation then I can reinstall it and install the dash. My rebuilt powersteering pump and pulley set up arrived as well and i installed it today. Great work by the guys at Steer and Gear.com.3e987ff2d10c421dc85f0c869975a369.jpg178b5a73c12b9a336a086ad8169aced7.jpg564132ec07476e60da33d3e644cff5dc.jpg

A bunch of pictures from a small car show in my town this evening. Figured I'd post in this thread since most of them are older.

The K.I.T.T. was shouting phrases from the TV show in a Tourette's-like blast every so often. Really delighted my four year old. If you look closely at the interior shot, you can see a miniature Centipede game among the dash monitors.

I realize that I'm probably in the minority, but the practice of popping the hood at car shows annoys me. Am I the only one?2f0fa71382f5ed20b4084d0e9a3cc26d.jpg0c1d8c42de7f0c50ef98bfd9322d5b20.jpgf22b7959a6e8427a7de3c7e4dbafa502.jpgde65a118a83ef75d82940d722b7f2144.jpg15098615c46bac9280d9ef03d5205c6a.jpg35018c838f5e29c21753455ca412578b.jpga5f4e57e2f7a1abb8954cdef43e4e766.jpg8478f7f1f3453f2adb20f47ba4fb8dc2.jpg

Longhorn sticker on the rear windshield of the Plum Crazy Challenger.

Got a kick out of the random, unmodified, and altogether unremarkable Infiniti Qwhatever. The General Lee doesn't have the push bar brush guard, and yet the roof still has the flag.

I don't personally object to it, as this car was a formative part of my youth, but I wouldn't argue with anyone that thinks maybe it should be done away with at this point - especially since this car is not a perfect recreation anyway. 423b23c27aa62b399f519fb0aa7e1349.jpgdb53ae965297643b21cb067cc0264fc4.jpge91eacbda7b3bc2fcb4c1cfe84cc248c.jpgb0454a6f11cf7af23622becbc0556096.jpga67f693b27c4f340de4b8950a5e5c1e9.jpgb463534b82f50356394c576c266e265b.jpg

Yeah, guys that like messing with engines, like to look at them a lot of times. I don’t get the open trunks. Sure, if there’s a body in it, I might be interested.

Yeah, I totally get that, and I'm not really much of tinkerer so I understand that I'm not the target beneficiary, but I would much, much rather look at a car with the hood (and trunk) closed than with everything open.

I wanna see the engine bay, even though a car looks better all buttoned up and the hatches down

+rep POD. But admit it, you were really taking a pic of Brat's grandson in the kilt and not the triumph.

73 challenger with a 70 TA challenger hood but as you mentioned the Longhorn sticker is what ties it all together.

I'm definitely not a Mopar expert, but that car definitely seemed to be a bit of a Frankenstein to my untrained eye. Something about the wheels and brakes seemed "restomoddy" to me.

Sounded like a monster, too!

Any thoughts on this closing price @16.5k prior to fees and shipping? J code with a strong foundation and a lot of docs.  But not particularly well optioned otherwise, and in need of what, 10-15k in body and paint.  Probably a new engine/trans in its near term future, especially if you are going to do the body work/paint.  You're in to this thing for 40-45k pretty easy. I am going to need to get an increased allowance from my accountant.

It's a run of the mill hard top.  Fastbacks, and convertibles, and unless it's a real GT pass.

So based on my pricing research, 35k to infinity.

It’s not a General Lee without the flag on the hood

But none of them have a flag on the hood.
