No thanks on Terry. This team wasted an easy national champ opportunity.    Texas sports suck.

If you told me after Beard got fired that this team would've finished 2nd in the Big 12 reg season, won the B12 tourney, and reached the Great 8, I would've said we had a GREAT fucking year. Sucks we

Still haven’t won a major sport national championship since 2005. Nearly 2 decades.

No fucking around guys - wear the same shit you've been wearing for the first three games.  And whatever other superstitions you follow - they matter.

I actually have a two t-shirt rotation for the tournament, thank you very much

Lets do this guys! Hook ‘em horns!

I get nervous before every game because I’m a Texas fan. Miami reminds me a lot of K-St so if we play great defense we win this one.

For basically the entire game today my heart will feel like I’m skydiving high on cocaine while smoking meth out of one side of my mouth and a cigarette out of the other

Right after having a large plate of brisket

Please let this be a day where Miami's bad shots don't go in.

Other teams' shots seem to go in with less frequency when they play our defense.  Let's hope the trend holds.

Hope so because Miami's guards like to take some wild/bad shots.

If you're Texas you can't get discouraged if a couple bad shots fall. The main thing is Texas needs to punish Miami in transition when those wild shots aren't falling.

Payback for the 1991 Cotton Bowl!!!

I hate that this keeps getting brought up since the only way it is payback is if we lay down a UConn type beating with over the top celebrations that get us at least five technical fouls. A close win does nothing to repair the damage of that day.

Asked my wife if I should wear my lucky 2005 national championship longhorn shirt today or save it for the final four…

her “who do we play?”

me “Miami”

her “oh, no biggie just save it”

We are winning. The oracle has spoken

talking heads all picking miami because they're an "nba team".

time to jam their shit---fuck them up.

This is a game where you hope Texas doesn't fall in love with the 3. Miami is 240th in 2 point % defensively. They have nobody that can defend the paint.

Houston lost because they went 9/31 from 3 and those missed 3s led to a lot of transition points for Miami. Carr and Hunter need to attack the rim.

I watched that segment. They barely mentioned Texas outside of Rodney Terry.

Sounds like we will really miss Disu.

So are the Pistons, Rockets and Spurs.

I still remember how cold it was that day and how embarrassing.

Their guards are scorers not defensive players.

You can beat their guards off the dribble and their big is 6'7 inside (which is small). Even with Disu the scoring needed to come from our guards off the dribble.

I’d feel infinitely better if Disu was able to play. Alas we beat a damn good Xavier team with it him so why not another?

Dillon Mitchell is due for a big game

I think it could be a big game for Morris if they tell him not to shoot 3s.

He's quick off the dribble and should be able to exploit Miami's weakness.

This is really a game we could use a good Morris.

We need his on ball pressure in this game defensively and he's an athletic mismatch for somebody on the offensive end.

People have to realize that Texas was seven years removed from a muffed punt costing us a MNC and for the first time Texas had gone through an Oh No We Suck Again period. The 60's gave us 2 MNCs and the 70s 1 MNC and 6 conference titles. We arrived at the Cotton Bowl thinking things were looking like they were back on track. Miami showed us how wrong we were and how underwhelming our talent, schemes and everything was in comparison to what was needed at the time to win an MNC. Beating Miami today does not come close to making up for us being exposed as pretenders that day.

avenging 1jan91 can only be done on a football field

let's stfu about that and burn the incense and candles for a win

just a win

any kind of win

that's today's victory

we will see the convicts on the football field another day

only payback for that game, I was there, would be to kill Miami football in a meaningful bowl game - ie football playoffs.  Could happen some day.

We need to get downhill against their guards and force them to guard. UH failed to do this on Friday and let Miami off the hook. Miami baited them into a 3-point shooting contest and UH obliged them.

Gonzaga utterly failed to stop the ball after missed shots all game long last night. I don't see them getting directly to the rim like that today. I hope.

Goddamn I am tired of the talking heads yapping about how they should take the interim tag off of Terry already.

In the middle of the fucking tournament?  What kind of moron would do that?

These asswipes don't think.

It was a baffling strategy by Houston. They only attempt 22.6 threes a game but attempted 30 against a team that's ranked 240th in 2 point % defense.

But I guess it wasn't all that surprising. Houston hasn't been playing well for some time. A few weeks actually.

Anyone got a link so that I can watch the game at 4 instead of 5 here on the east coast?  It'll be halftime before it starts here.  TIA.

TEXAS from the 78717! Get your Horns Up!

I played this song before the MNC in football. Hoping for something similar in basketball!

Hopefully we get some payback for the 91 cotton bowl
