No thanks on Terry. This team wasted an easy national champ opportunity.    Texas sports suck.

If you told me after Beard got fired that this team would've finished 2nd in the Big 12 reg season, won the B12 tourney, and reached the Great 8, I would've said we had a GREAT fucking year. Sucks we

32 FTs for the team losing more than 60% of the game...okay!

Nice season.

If you told me after Beard got fired that this team would've finished 2nd in the Big 12 reg season, won the B12 tourney, and reached the Great 8, I would've said we had a GREAT fucking year. Sucks we lost. But this team exceeded everyone's expectations.

Congrats Horns on an outstanding season.

Never started trying to attack the inside that is their weekends towards the end, got cold and kept shooting it from far out.

Without Disu, we resorted to hero ball jump shot offense. Ball should have been in Rice’s hands, not Carr’s

MIAMI SHOT 32 FREE THROWS TO OUR 15.

Yeah, we missed some shots and we turned it over too much, and none of that costs us the fucking game when we're up 12 points with 12 minutes left unless Miami ends up with 32 god damned free throws to our 15.

Fucking bullshit.

So many questionable calls at the end of this one.

Blocking foul on Allen (could have been called a charge)-2 points Miami.

Foul on the shooter in the middle of the paint (but it was a travel before)-2 points Miami

Foul on Cunningham on the box out-2 points Miami but a 4 point swing potentially because Cunningham was getting 2 free throws on the other end.

That's a 6 to 8 point swing under 4 minutes on questionable calls.

Also the slap on Carr's drive which was mostly ball but also elbow and that gets called 95% of the time.

Just too many fouls and turnovers in last 12mins.  Lost our ability to execute on offense, and gave away too many points at the charity stripe...

Miami had 28pts at the free throw line

Regardless of what happens

There have not been many Texas teams - in any sport - that have been easier to root for.

I stand by this.

CDC needs to carefully think about this next move. Beard wins this game by 20.

No fucking way.  Our offense is better since Beard.

Shot 50% from the field, 40% from 3, 73 from the line. Took 11 more shots then Miami. Out rebounded them as well.

But 28-32 from the line and 27-41 from 2 overcame all of that.

Brutal loss. Gut punch...but really these kinds of losses are what the NCAA tournament are all about.

And the future doesn't exactly look bright, at least the near future unless Terry can get a bunch of transfers.

32 free throws to 15 is pretty absurd.

Double bonus with 10 minutes left… 3 shoulders and no charges called, no travels called… I mean the first half and the 2nd half foul number alone was absurd

You’re a fucking moron.

You need to carefully think about rooting for another school.

This game went the way I feared once I heard Disu was out.

Disu was the difference.

Bishop was garbage most of this game.  This is it.

Transfers won't be a problem.  Texas is going to be able to bring in starters thanks to our NIL.

Coupled with Rice being hurt...then the fouls.

Drink poison.

I hope the refs' plane spirals into the ground.

They shot 60% but Texas made more FGs than Miami. FTs we’re obviously the difference, but hardto draw them when you take dumb ass shots while the coach twiddles his thumbs.

Wut?

2 minutes ago, Slacks said:

Nah. The game was the same. We missed shots. Go look at the shot chat for both halves... Ball movement was similar. Shot making went away because legs were dead.

I see this in aau ball every week. Teams with short rotations and a size disadvantage get gassed in the 2nd half and the scoring stops.

I just don't know how you can say this - there were actually more than 5 2 point swings that were 100% on the refs. The carr foul not being a flagrant is about the dumbest shit I've ever seen ever. The guy ran at him like he was tackling a fucking wide receiver it wasn't a basketball play and he deadlegged him by leading with his knee.

Did they play awesome? yeah I think they did, especially with all the artificial bullshit stoppages. The sloppy passes were also fouls for them and just turnovers for Texas. At 10 minutes in after they got the teams into the double bonus they did that to slow the fucking game down and make it close because it's not good for a team to blow another team out going into the Final Four.

Beard is going to rival A&M in hypothetical championships.

I don't care how this game ended, we still had a great season heres to hoping Terry is the guy and we can have many more

Well he has holland coming who’s a superstar. And I guarantee we get transfers through the portal.

Game tied with a minute to go, Cunningham boxes out and Miami goes over the back, should’ve been 2 FT’s for Texas, instead 2 FT’s for Miami.  Ballgame

Miami dude jumped straight  up and Cunningham was undercutting the fuck out of him.

i still can't get over what the rule is here that made this the right call? the announcers also agreed. its not brocks fault the other left his feet...its over the back or nothing on loose ball.

we certainly were not great down the stretch and kudos to them for making all their foul shots, but the refs controlled the entirety of the second half.  our defense was fucking good, and was winning the game, but then we got penalized for it and that killed our MO. on top of that the travels, over the backs, and no charges on them on that side of the court was BS.

he had boxed him out and the Miami guy was trying to come over his back.  he didn't jump straight up.

Cunningham was boxing him out and Miami dude jumped up over him, that’s never been called on the guy boxing out in the history of basketball until tonight.

One of the bigger problems in sports is refs don’t have to face questions.

Questions like, “Why did you reverse that over the back call when one guy has position is backing up for the rebound and has his eyes on the ball? How is he responsible for knowing a guy is going to come flying in from behind him?”

1 minute ago, hookem48 said:

Bullshit.  Brock is allowed to block out, and if you jump over his back and get undercut and land on him, the foul is on you.
