Inoue broke him down, even though it felt like the body was there for the taking if the kid would've just committed to it. His best moments were countering and hitting the body. Inoue is for real, can't hate on that. But he was at least given a fight tonight and was overwhelmed a few times in the fight, just never gave in to the pressure and kept on his front foot. Brilliant fight. Saved the weekend after the historically awful fights we had. Inoue really needs to work on not getting out over his skis when he's on the attack. Cardenas dropped him with the exact same counter punch Nery did. That shit is gonna get him in trouble at 126.
May 5May 5 Will be interesting to see how high in weight Inoue can go. Seems like his biggest challenge will be a weight class and not necessarily an opponent.
May 11May 11 Helluva fight with Navarrete and Suarez. It was stopped due to what they said was a non-intentional head-butt/cut. It is hard to tell whether or not it was the punch or a slight hit with the head. If you looked at Navarrete while they were waiting for the scorecards it looked as if he was saying the cut came when Suarez raked down on his face with the open-fist side of his glove. It looked like that could be accurate. They had to go with the call from the ring because the video replay was blocked by the fighters. In quotes after Navarrete said it was the head-butt. The two were really fighting hard. Navarrete won a Technical Decision on the scorecards after the fight was stopped at the start of the 8th round. I don't see how Navarrete can stay at 130 because he can barely make that weight.
June 9Jun 9 Author pathetic shit by Keyshawn Davis this weekend. first misses weight by 4 lbs and has his main event canceled, then gets into a backstage skirmish with the guy who beat his brother on the same card. i was very high on him, but shit like that makes it easy to think he'll be another burnout like Adrien Broner.

If I had remembered to bring my field glasses I could watch the fight pretty easily from my room at the Marriott here in Houston. The one bar by the Dynamo’s stadium has it on the big screen and I can see it. I could probably watch it still and tell what is going on. Hopefully Paul gets clobbered. June 29Jun 29 The first 3 rounds lend real credence to the idea that these fights are bought. Sub 10 punches landed for Chavez
June 29Jun 29 They’ve got to stop this Jake Paul shit. Make him fight a real, active fighter. Fuck, they are talking about a rematch with Tommy Fury. Seriously?

July 11Jul 11 WBA lightweight champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis, 30, was arrested on Friday morning in Miami Beach on a battery charge stemming from an alleged domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend of four years. According to WPLG Local 10, Davis' arrest comes nearly a month after he allegedly assaulted the mother of two of his three children on Father's Day outside of her home in Doral. Talk show host Andy Slater was the first to report the incident and stated that Davis was "accused of hitting his ex-girlfriend on the back of the head and slapping her." He was taken into custody in Miami Beach before being transported by the Doral Police Department. According to Miami-Dade county's inmate report, Davis is currently being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with his bond "to be set." The star boxer has had numerous run-ins with the law over the years that included domestic violence and multiple traffic offenses. His last run-in came in Dec. 2022 when he was arrested for allegedly striking a woman with a "closed hand type slap." The charges were later dropped. Davis reportedly had been linked to a rematch with Lamont Roach Jr. in August after the two battled to a controversial majority draw in March. However, Premier Boxing Champions has yet to formally announce the fight. https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/45717587/boxing-star-gervonta-davis-arrested-miami-battery-charge

July 13Jul 13 Will be happy to never see Bumlanga ever again. Shakur put on a masterclass against Zepeda. He ain't Floyd, but he's got the skills. Only one week until Usyk v. Dubois 2. Can't wait! /bartscott

July 13Jul 13 Hated the game plan from Berlanga. He had concepts of a plan (get inside the reach) but seemed to be clueless what to do once there. Not sure I saw him throw a single body shot. You'd think he'd try to break down Sheeraz and get him to start to fold over, but he just went headhunting and didn't have the firepower Sheeraz brought to the hunt.

Yeah, Shakur has brittle hands and not much power. If he carried legit power he'd be headed towards GOAT status. Of course, these spoiled rotten American fighters already don't want to fight him. If he had power they sure as hell wouldn't. Hopefully the Turkmeister can enticed some guys to get in the ring with him.
July 19Jul 19 Usyk obliterated Dubois with a monster left hook in the fifth. Huge win over an excellent opponent. We’ve talked about it on this thread but the heavyweight ranks in boxing are actually good right now. And it’s time to start talking about Usyk as one of the best to ever do it. I do think the language barrier and not being an American holds him back from being the kind of cultural icon other greats have been.
July 20Jul 20 That was a beat down. Dubois is pretty whack imo. The Fury fights were much more entertaining. Dubois was so clearly overmatched

Dubois was so clearly overmatched Usyk gave a counter-punching masterclass. Dude is special, and he’s doing this at 38 years old. Olympic gold, cleaned out the crusierweight ranks and then did the same at heavyweight while giving away height and size. Fury, Joshua, Dubois all X 2. Usyk would be a great in any era.
July 20Jul 20 Author yeah that was super impressive. agree with everything that is being said about Usyk - guy is awesome and we're lucky to have him around.
July 20Jul 20 I wish there was one more big time, younger guy for him to fight but it just doesn’t seem like that will happen.
July 20Jul 20 Author Pacquiao looked pretty solid for 46 last night. Barrios is not one of the current greats, but he's not a tomato can either and he's 16 years younger than Pacquiao. I'm not as upset with the draw as some on Twitter are, but that was definitely a fight between two pretty evenly matched guys and I think that says a lot for Pacquiao.

Just dominated a guy 11 years younger than him who was coming off of three KO wins. Made it look easy. I really think they pissed Usyk off by calling him a liar, a cheat, and a fake Christian while pushing that narrative that the low-blow was actual legal in his and Dubois' first fight. DON'T PUSH THE HORSES! No one left for Usyk to fight, really. Parker is his next mandatory, but Parker doesn't have a chance in hell of winning that fight. Kabayel might be interesting because he stops guys to the body, but I doubt he'd come close, either. Man has really just completed boxing. Top 10 HW of all-time for my money. One of the top P4P fighters in the history of the sport, too. Nobody better in the history of the sport at managing a fight and winning rounds. Phenomenal feet, hands, chin, stamina, heart, and IQ. Only thing he's truly lacking is one-punch KO power, but now that he's bulking up a bit and sitting on his shots, well, you see what he did in this fight. And he does it all on the road!

August 20Aug 20 So now Tank Davis is going to fight Jake Paul. Doesn’t he give up about 50 pounds to Paul? Maybe more than 50.
August 21Aug 21 3 hours ago, Hornmatic said: Worthless exhibition. Next. Big switch from allegedly a negotiation with Anthony Joshua. There’s a six inch height and 65 pound weight difference between the two if Paul comes in at his last weight. It’s clear that Paul is using boxing to make stupid money while keeping his neural network intact. The thing is that there’s no shame in taking up the sport late and getting good at it (which it’s clear Paul has done). It’s just not in the cards to be a legitimate professional contender.   It’s too bad he couldn’t use his celebrity to make the sport more popular and shine a light on the real professionals instead of contributing to the WWE-ification of it. Then again he’ll make 100 million from this bullshit and since it’s not a sanctioned bout you can bet there will be all kinds of clauses in the contract. Edited August 21Aug 21 by 956 Worldwide
August 22Aug 22 Really stupid exhibition, I’ll be interested to see the rules and how many rounds etc. That said, Gervonta could absolutely knock out Jake Paul. Small or not this will be the heaviest hands that Jake Paul has seen. Anthony Joshua would literally kill Jake Paul.

September 12Sep 12 Author oh i agree. p4p, Bud is better than Canelo. I just cant see him going up 3 weight classes from his best weight and beating Canelo at his best weight. I think I say it on this thread every time he fights, but I don't think there is a fighter on the planet whose natural weight class is 168 or below that can beat Canelo.
September 12Sep 12 Yea the weight class jump to me is an issue. Also randomly saw that he is dealing with a shoulder on some nonsense social media. Any truth to it?

I expect Bud will be much more active than most of Canelo’s opponents.
