September 14Sep 14 This guy doing the interview is sometimes a bit much. Just talk to him. The guy is a bad dude, but a calm man. Just ask some questions about the fight
September 14Sep 14 Just now, Slacks said: Canelo needs to drop his walking weight. He's getting too big. Doesn’t have the same pop without being on the gear.

September 14Sep 14 It's a good thing Crawford went out and clearly won the last round or we would have had some majority draw yet another embarrassing night for boxing bullshit.
September 14Sep 14 He’s just looking for some fucking “hot takes” annoying as fuck. Most definitely. Dude is terrible. Also, looks like he got a bad batch of coke.

Crawford wouldn’t have that issue Mario Lopez needs to not have this job

September 14Sep 14 I knew this outcome was the most likely, but let Netflix talk me into the weight being that much of an issue over the past couple weeks. Spoiler: it wasn't. The reflexes were always going to be too much, the timing, the precision. He has just had that level that only the greats have had, for a decade now. I've been a fan of Bud only half the time I've been a fan of Canelo, but I thought it was a mistake for Canelo to try this, the same way it was to fight Bivol. Just too much. He chases greatness, but could've retired as a great just sticking to 160-168. But he tried. Buds just another animal, and he has that same chin that Canelo has. Where i could not really see Canelo hurting him that bad. Maybe wearing him down, but fuck he couldn't even do that.
September 14Sep 14 We witnessed what the sport is about. A big flight and a champion that stepped up to the plate. What a performance. Bud is the best I've ever seen. The man has the "it" factor. It's a shame that we could never see him outclass Floyd. Shout out to canelo for taking the fight and giving us fans what we deserve.
September 14Sep 14 Inoue completely kicking MJ's ass. Not even close to competitive. I guess Nakatani really is the only guy who can challenge the Monster at this point.
September 14Sep 14 Oh, and Ricky Hatton was found dead in his home this morning. Authorities implying it was suicide or maybe an OD? RIP to the Hitman.
September 14Sep 14 Damn, Hatton was a fighter for sure. Didn't back down, ever, that I can remember. Just two or three losses. Still thinking about last night. That was awesome for Crawford. It sounded like that stadium was about 70% for Canelo. Glad Crawford resoundingly won.
September 14Sep 14 Author i ended up passing out before the fight last night, but was able to watch it this morning without having the result spolied. what a fucking performance from Bud. I thought Canelo would be too big for him, but that wasn't an issue at any point during the fight. just an absolute masterclass. it almost felt as if everyone on the broadcast was hoping he'd retire after that, but i sure as shit hope he fights again. he is my absolute favorite guy to watch and he always delivers.

Everyone agreed: *Bud is the better, faster technical boxer, but won't be able to hurt Canelo enough to stop him. *Canelo is bigger/stronger, but won't be able to get Bud into a phone booth brawl, so he'll have to land a combo to hurt Bud. *Canelo isn't typically a 4/5-punch combo type guy, so he's going to have to catch Bud, who never gets caught. *Bud has the reach on Canelo, so he'll be able to jab Canelo at distance whenever Canelo wants to bring his combo bombs. *Canelo will have to take damage to get in range, while hoping Bud stands there to deliver more damage and becomes willing to brawl. There is no world where Bud will consider this, even if Canelo is clearly hurt and ready to go out. High risk, low reward. Then they bet on Canelo for some reason.

Honestly the few times that they did stand and brawl, Bud was way better at it and landed the more impactful shots. He was better than Canelo at everything, even the things that were supposed to be Canelo’s strengths.

However even being better at it didn't justify the risk of continuing to do it and getting caught with a phantom punch to the liver that could change or end the fight. Bud's defensive movement was great, because it put him in an offensive position with almost no risk.

October 13Oct 13 That whole thing is going to be such a joke. An exhibition that counts towards neither fighters records, 2 human and one AI judge. Fighting 10 rounds and using sparring weight gloves (12oz). Fuck that shit.
October 19Oct 19 If you want to see how a ref fixes a fight by extending all the leeway in the world to a specific fighter, this video is for you. Cole, arguably the worst ref the sport has ever seen, doesn't wave the fight off when it's clear Juarez has no clue where he is and isn't responding to commands. Then he proceeds to give Juarez time to recover by calling timeout TWICE to give point deductions. This gives Juarez enough time to get his shit back together and then he goes on to knock Layton out in the goofiest round of boxing I've ever seen. Layton should be suing errrrrrrrybody after this abortion. https://streamain.com/en/CIePFmLVa6G1DkI/watch

October 25Oct 25 Fabio Wardley, a guy who started boxing in his 20s, just beat Joe Parker to become the mandatory for Usyk. Fairly terrible stoppage as usual by the most corrupt British ref in the game, Howard Foster. Parker probably well ahead on the cards, Wardley gets a good sequence going, Parker goes to the ropes, Wardley misses most of his shots, and the fight is waved off.

November 23Nov 23 Great night of boxing so far in Riyadh. A war between Mason and Noakes. Bam dogwalked his opponent. Now we've got Haney v. Norman with Benevidez v. Yarde on the way.

November 23Nov 23 I was actually really surprised by Haney tonight. More pop than he has had before I thought. Benavidez is so good.

Which is why Canelo ducked him and he had to move up to 175. Now he's already talking about moving up to fight Zurdo at Cruiser. Probably because he doesn't want to sit around just to be ducked again.
