I don't know, he's never really done much that would say he's going to be useful at some point.

Matijevic had potential as a lefty power bat.  But being limited defensively and striking out a lot makes it hard to hold on to a roster spot in your late 20s.

Wow. Didn't see JJ getting DFA'd:

Maybe a positive sign for Altuve's recovery?

I was pretty certain that Altuve would be put on the 60 IL day to open up a 40 man spot. Brown is a little different than what we’re used to.

If I were the A's I'd sign him and give him 500 AB's to see one way or another.  I mean- maybe they have more interesting reclamation projects but he seems like he could be a Matt Stairs type of guy if everything broke right for him for 3-5 years.  Be the LHB portion of a platoon in a corner OF or 1B/DH situation.

I mean- Matt Stairs had a 19 year career so he won't be that guy- but maybe he could replicate the middle part of his career.  What else do the A's have to do but try shit like that out...

Or maybe he's just out of organized baseball.

And he'll probably hit .400 against us.

No doubt.  I wish we would have given him 200 AB's at 1b last year just to see if there might be something there.

Settling in for a long season, killing time until the Astros pregame.

Cole  just walked the 1st batter on 4 pitches.

I think the 15-day IL is for pitchers only. I'm pretty sure they created it to prevent teams from gaming the system by placing pitchers on the 10-day and being able to have them miss only one start.

I want to face off against the Yankees in the ALCS, then take on Verlander and the Mets in World Series.
Silence New York for at least a week or two.

Kudos to you if, after 2019, you had Grienke as a 2023 opening day starter over JV

ZG's last game of 2019 was pretty strong

Yeah, I picked a bad point in time.

but by the time the opening week of the 2020 season was over (JV TJ) Grienke was the safer bet…

Fun Fact: the Teres Major is also a cut of beef that is gaining in popularity.  It's like a miniature tenderloin.

Fucking dying at Dusty (correctly) determining Chas > Meyers is the way to go for an entire playoff run, but not for Opening Day.  Dude just loves to stir the pot.

So the Astros game tonight is on ESPN, which is great. But for any future games, how does a Houston resident watch them if ATT Sportsnet is dead/dying?
