Jake Meyers, Chas McCormick, and Corey Julks are on trade watch according to Astros GM Dana Brown. The team is exploring trading an outfielder for MLB level talent, a la the Myles Straw deal. https://t.co/J9niT7Go5J

Chas is gone, imo

sucks to get rid of a ws hero

It would be lunacy to trade Chas unless we are sellers.  FO malpractice. Jake & Julks, yes.

Dubon has played himself into being too valuable of a multi-tool for a contender to trade away during a run.

The Cards have a much deeper and richer history with Houston baseball. The Dodgers and Reds were "rivals" for less than a decade beginning in the late-70s. Still, Houston and St. Louis have been intertwined since 1919 with the Houston Buffs - the first minor league team affiliated with a Major League franchise. The Houston and St. Louis rivalry of the NL Central era was also a more significant period in Astros' history.

Shout out to Victoria and the Crossroads.

We were in the NL West from 1969-1993. 25 years.

We were in the NL Central from 1994-2012. 19 years.

Granted we had a long tradition with St Louis via the Houston Buffs, but how many still living ever saw the Gashouse Gang play? It seems after the 30's few of their top players went through Houston. Stan Musial, Enos Slaughter, Red Schoendienst, Marty Marion, Curt Flood, Bob Gibson never played for the Buffs. Kevin Boyer spent one season in Houston.

Depends on who we get back.

Everyone has a price/no one is untradeable

(well, except maybe Whitley but that’s an entirely different discussion)

And why the fuck is Brown talking to media about trade plans?

Just say something generic like, "We are always looking for opportunities to improve our team."

The Astros are interested in trading a major league outfielder for a big bat, per @Ken_Rosenthal Meyers, McCormick and Julks were mentioned but Rosenthal said the Yankees were previously interested in Chas McCormick. Something to watch. https://t.co/iNQHpqIAVJ

Rangers just acquired Chapman from the Royals. They are all in.

Hopefully he gets there quickly. Preferably tonight.

Chas for an Ohtani rental? Oh, all right. 🤣

That's a decent pick up if he stays healthy, but the jokes just write themselves.

I think it’s more the health of his head than his body. He pretty much vanished rather than pitch in playoffs last year. Altuve may have broken him from ever wanting that pressure and smoke again. He’s done well in KC with no pressure. Lights just got turned on but the Altuve nightmares are real.

Glass houses, y'all.

At least it doesn't look like the Astros got dressed in the dark with their city connects.
