These Mets and A's jump out to unexpected early leads and then just waste away as their opponents slowly chip away. They play just badly enough to lose. I'd rather they get blown out from the start and not get my hopes up.

Giving up 3 runs on 3 singles — despite turning a DP in the middle of it all — is pretty major fail. If we didn't need the Mets to win, I'd find it awesome.

I'm taking my kids (2 & 4) to their first baseball game next Sunday against the Padres! We got the free tickets in the nosebleeds through the Astros Buddies program, but I doubt the kids will want to watch more than a couple innings. There's only so many snacks and treats to keep them occupied.
