I mean, it just makes sense to hit him in these tight, late inning situations.

Especially when we're tied or trailing.

The three worst hitters on any night are Dubon, Maldonado, and Abreu. Somehow our dumbfuck of a manager leads one of them off ensuring he gets the most ABs and then bats 1st and 3rd back-to-back.

I watch baseball for enjoyment...and this is not enjoyable. So I'll swing back by in a few days to see if anything's better. Can't be much worse.

Here's that thing where Montero comes in a makes sure the Astros have no shot at coming back.

One more baserunner and maybe Maldonado can bat as the winning run with 2 outs

Damn, almost a Crawford Box special

Lol how you let Abreu tag on you LFer

And why was he risking it?  I guess so we could avoid the shutout.

Julks over Meyers here is dumb

Hit it pretty good.  Maybe tomorrow we'll score before the 9th?

Game

bats need to wake up, too many 0’fers tonight

Fair. Can't ask for much more from JP France. He didn't deserve the Loss

Yeah, Blue Jays win.  Rangers have now lost 7 out of 9 and I think we've picked up 2 games over that stretch.

It’s time to sacrifice a chicken ….

Altuve 7 for last 44 (.159)
Bregman 6 for last 43 (.140)

they were due for off years, a trend that is probably permanent.

New beat guy for the Chronicle. Nice career move,, going from covering the A’s to the Astros

I though Lerner was taking that over permanently.  Whatever, it's not like the Chronicle even bothers to cover the previous day's games anymore.

I should have specified the print edition.  /getoffmylawn

Lol got to get one last parting shot at Choadler

I will give Altuve the benefit of the doubt with the injuries at start of season so far, but Bregman is on the struggle bus. At least he plays pretty good defense(except when he throws balls into the net during the 9th inning of games)

Unfortunately, he’ll still be around until he gets the ax from The Athletic. Which, based on their new model, will happen sooner rather than later

Edited by TonyTexas

Yeah thats fine I don't mess with the Athletic. At least i can see this dudes tweets.....for now

doesn’t matter who’s hitting 7 8 9, if our franchise players can’t produce, this whole team is on the struggle bus

go out there and keep swinging

Dubon is at about 0.295

Who gives a shit about batting average. His OPS is awful because he doesn't walk or hit with any power. He is one of the worst hitters on the team along with Abreu and Maldonado, well now you can include Meyers in that list as well.

Moreover, today's lineup is just a fucking joke. At what point does Crane say enough is enough and fire the fuckturd. It's amazing that this team wastes two spots on guys even the A's would laugh at being on their 26-man roster, and the Astros are supposed to be contending for a long post-season run.

BA is very important. He scores runs.  OBP is good.   The criticism of Dubon is not founded in reality at all.

They’ve looked and played tired the last several games, imo

hopefully they’re handing out some B12 shots. Let’s get this train back on track
