The helmet over the net into the crowd is fun

That had a happy ending.

Here is Hayden Dorfman, age 10, who caught the helmet Harper threw after he was ejected tonight. A few security guards approached him and told him Harper wanted to sign it. He said Harper is his favorite player and added that this is “the best baseball game he’s ever been to”

That would’ve crossed the line from “annoying/kind of funny” to straight up cyber bullying. I wouldn’t have posted the entire month.

That’s truly awesome.

Final line for Rodon

0 IP. 8 ER

$27M/yr thru 2028. Add in Stanton and that’s $55M/ yr for the next 4 seasons. Those kids better pan out or Helo going to be sporting the Yankees Suck avatar for quite a while.

Matt Duffy in the lineup as DH for the Royals.  I was hoping KC would have used the Ohtani Rule to let Greinke have one last game as a batter.

Picked up his 2nd win of the season though.  If this is it, he finishes with 225 Ws and 2979 Ks.

Freddie went 0 for 4 today and finished with 59 doubles.  Still no 60 double season since 1936.

George Kirby, Disgusting 73mph Knuckleball. 🦋That movement. 🤮
George Kirby confirms that the knuckleball he threw was in honor of Tim Wakefield, who passed away today.#SeaUsRise #DirtyWater

He should keep throwing them.

In the history of baseball (which is a pretty long time), there has been 1 team to slug .500 for a full season. Your 2023 Atlanta Braves, with the most impressive offensive season in history.

He really doesn’t need another pitch.  He’s got plenty good stuff, already …

Very similar to the 2019 Astros lineup of hate that steamrolled the regular season.

Hope it works out for you the same it did for us.

Not really.  The ball was juiced in 2019 and the MLB-wide slugging was .435.  The Astros led at .495 but the Twins and Yankees were at .494 and .490.

This year MLB-wide slugging was .414.  Atlanta led at .501 and the Dodgers were second at .455.

I was just saying all-time great offensive regular season means jack shit when it comes to winning the World Series.  It helps, but is no guarantee.

Granted, the Braves also have elite pitching so there is a legit reason they are far and away the top pick to take it all.  Kind of like the 2019 Astros were.  Again, hope it works out for them the same it did for us.

Holy crap, this picture was taken in 1992 at the SF Giants' last home game of the season.  At the time they had agreed to move the franchise to Tampa.

Baseball movies is all we have for the next 2 days.

This is the 2nd time all 4 WC series went 2 and out.  Sucks for us.

Should’ve kept it as a do or die one game thing.

Have heard that brought up multiple times on sportstalk today, but that favors the weaker team, IMHO.  I like it that there were at least a couple of upsets this year, and it wasn't just one game flukers.

That's a good idea, what's everyone's favorite baseball movie? Mine is The Sandlot.
