Yeah.

I've been hearing y'all blather about how the Saudis, Russians, Chinese, Elon, etc are going to front this money for Trump and "buy" him.

And nobody's buying.

Why do y'all think that is? If he's up for sale (and he is) to these fuckers who have money to burn (and they do) and who can wreck America bad if (and they would), why ain't they buyin? In the words of the Fresh Prince, why don't they love him?

simple

because he ain't doing what anyone tells him to do and can't win in November and everyone knows it

he

In the decades that I have been a lawyer, this is the most bizarre order I’ve ever seen issued by a federal judge. What makes that all the more amazing is that the second and third most bizarre orders I’ve ever seen in federal court were also issued by Judge Cannon in this case. https://t.co/iS609sxIQb

No one has that much money!!

For a guy who 'made a living' off the capital stack of real estate, his knowledge of how bonds work is almost as impressive as his understanding of tariffs.  Truly mind-bottling.

There's nothing wrong with this per se. Jury instructions will have to be done regardless.

But this evidences that she has no understanding whatsoever of the interplay between the PRA and 18 USC 793,which is none.

She is trying to manufacture nuances where there are none, much like she did earlier because she's a fuckin dumbass.

She has at least one clerk to help her make sense of this because she can't figure it out on her own and still fucks it up.

It would be easier if he just stated which political opponents of his that he won't put in jail.

Also, he's putting these people in danger, and he knows that.

Seize his shit, but do not liquidate it. Hold drag queen parties in the MAL ballroom. Set up a free vaccination spot in the parking lot. Let the homeless and migrants live on the greens.  Set up a banned book loan library in the room he hid the documents. Give free Taco Bell to any guests and let them destroy the bathroom. Reconstruct the deconstructed burger.

Today is the day that Jr finally figured out there would be no inheritance:

The record — a Uniform Commercial Code filing dated March 7, 2024 — was filed by Chubb’s outside counsel, Akerman LLP, and lists two debtors: the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust (into which Trump’s assets roll up) and Donald J. Trump, Jr., one of the trustees. 2/

One of the kind of unfortunate things about execution in most states is that the judgment creditor rarely/never takes possession of the executed-upon property. The sheriff or other official seizes it for a "Sheriff's sale," which is quite similar to a foreclosure auction. So the judgment creditor doesn't have a lot of control over things. A lot of things can go wrong to prevent it from turning into a lot of liquid cash in a hurry.

I think neither E. Jean Carroll, nor the state of New York, would be particularly bothered by this outcome.

His knowledge is about as extensive as Elon Musk's knowledge of the First Amendment.

Elmo has no excuse - it's just 30 seconds on Google.

Trump doesn't either.

Well if they spend a lot of effort "seizing" a multi million dollar property and get 10k out of it that tends to suck.

Here's the most hilarious thing: Trump was gifted 500 million dollars by his dad and now, despite the fact that the dollars are inflated, he can't even come up with the money his dad gave him.

They're all missing the real issue here.

The #1 rule of buying someone out is they have to stay bought.

If you think the person is going to flake out or turn on you after you buy 'em? Better off spending that money elsewhere.

That's why the Saudis, Musk, etc haven't spent a dime to help him. (And Putin has his own problems.)

It's more that than anything else.

If that were true, shouldn’t at least one of her questionable decisions serve to benefit the prosecution’s effort to see this trial to a speedy conclusion and not help Trump delay and muddy up the process? Just one?

Plus, while everything with Trump is transactional, it’s all on his terms - you give him money, he gives you what he wants to give you, which may not be what you want. Just ask all of the contractors who have taken him to court, the January 6 idiots who end up with jail time and felony records while he fundraisers off of them, the people who relied on his failed businesses for a paycheck,  etc.

Putin and MBS (and Kim) know how to manipulate Trump with flattery and feeding his massive, fragile ego. Putin wants Ukraine and he already owns Trump. If Trump is elected, he’ll cut off aid to Ukraine and hand them over to Russia. If Putin bails him out trhough some back-channel means (no doubt aided by Manafort’s connections with Russian intelligence), the payback is already baked in. Nobody is expecting Trump to pay them back in cash.

I’m not saying that Trump will get bailed out by the Saudis. But the fact that it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it won’t. It would have to be something that’s not easily traceable. And it wouldn’t be like a loan with a contract and terms for repayment. In fact they wouldn’t ask for repayment. They’d tell Trump how unfairly he was being treated and they just couldn’t stand seeing the injustice being done to such a great and powerful leader who did nothing wrong.
