Does completely whiffing also count as wondo’ing?

Yes. Yes it does.

sad nips.

but this senegal team may be the real deal.  won't know until we see how they do against Colombia (assuming a Colombia win this afternoon keeps them in play).

This game has been action-packed.

yes, very compelling, entertaining.  not much bitchassedness.  hard fouls that are needed and well taken, NKVD snipers taking the day off.

good grief.... japan keeps trying to get the ball on their dominant foot instead of just taking a decent shot that probably goes in 60% of the time

These are the guys that called off the third wave at Pearl Harbor.....

honestly this game has been pretty exciting, kind of reminds me of portugal/spain without the star power

Nice to see Honda still doing it in the World Cup.  Maybe my favorite goal from South Africa:

there might have been a handball there

nope just a normal block

Good game.  I'm pulling for a draw in the next game to set up the chance of a 4 way tie in this group.

great game, guessing a lot of people skipped this one

Probably. Not much star power. But the Liverpool fans I’m sure watched to see Mane.

We were treated to a good one.

It drives me insane that Japan is playing well in the World Cup due to one man, Tom Beyer.  Yet, US Soccer won’t bring him home and give him a legit shot at helping them.

Pretending to be hurt is what has kept me from getting completely into soccer.  I absolutely love the world cup.  I think it's my favorite 'world championship' in all of sports...

but good god, watching grown men roll around on the ground every time they get touched is such a buzz kill.

Has any team ever just played through all contact?  Like, a coach says, 'this match, maybe we don't fall to the ground unless we actually lose our balance...this match, we just keep playing through contact'.

I feel like a team with that approach (if equally matched talentwise) would dominate.  If nothing else, it'd surprise the other team who expects them to flop.

that would be the US National Team, who never get the call, and who have learned that it's pointless to flop.  the brutal assaults the nats endured in the late '90s and early '00s especially on the road (in los angeles, new york, houston, dallas and central america) would have seen the opposition down to 3 or 4 men anywhere else in the world.
