I nominate Blue Velvet.

I’ll send you a love letter fucker…

First time I saw it was when it came out as a freshman at Dobie, on a date with a freshman bowhead sorority princess from Kingwood. Good times.

What’s your favorite completely fucked up movie?

Why? What did she tell you?

Aronofsky's Mother! was fun

I remember Perfect Blue being pretty fucking wild when I watched it.

Bone Tomahawk is... jarring... to say the least.

Infinity Pool is my current  fave.

The hills have eyes is my favorite classic with Last House on the Left a close second.

A Serbian Film may be the most fucked up shit I've ever seen on film.

Fiction: Very Bad Things

Non-Fiction: Dear Zachary

Midsommar seems so f***ed up. I won't touch it. Plenty of nightmare fuel already out here.

Loved that one.  It wasn't that fucked up.

Jacob's Ladder (1990). I saw it in early high school and liked it.

About the same time we also tried to watch Johnny Got His Gun because of the Metallica One video but it was not good. Depressing though.

Dear Zachary was completely fucked up and heartbreaking.

Been one of my favorites for 25 years. Peak Depp. Great Del Toro. All the cameos. All the Terry Gillian weird cinematography. The harsh realism regarding ideals vs bullshit in American society. Not much violence unlike most movies listed here.

Dancer in the Dark was absolutely amazing and I never want to see it again.

Blue BROWN Bunny

(the blowjob was real)

This is the obvious answer.

Speak No Evil from last year was fucked but also awesome, unlike ASF

Come and See

Also, original Swedish version of “Let the Right One In is a fave.

This little gem from my cable-tv-watching childhood always left me with an uneasy feeling.  "Hell hath no fury like nine cornered kids."  WTF?!?

We Need To Talk About Kevin

That scene where she eats scrambled egges with the broken shells in them was disturbing.

If we’re including TV I saw Paris Trout on Showtime in the early 90’s. Dennis Hopper could play some screwed up characters.

Lol.

First of all, I read that as you coming out as a freshman.

Secondly, I also picked the wrong movie to take my (eventual) college sweetheart (also from Kingwood) to on our first date - Schindler's List.  She cried for 5 straight hours. Well done Knox.

My friend's dad rented this for family movie night because he thought was a sequel to National Velvet.
