I have a .4 acre lot near Lake Navarro Mills, but no view of the lake.
Plenty of space for a doublewide.

We can acknowledge that all of Surly is top 1% in income, but even within this group, there are 9 or 10 figure earners.  How many of you have vacation homes in these locales:

Big Island - that means North Padre, right? Galveston?

Spoiler

Really it is Mackinaw Island - with the Grand Hotel, no horses and the unmistakable scent of Lilac, Fudge and Horseshit

I been looking at condos in POC, but can't find one I like with a permanent boat slip and I'll be goddamned if I'm going to have to launch a boat at Froggie's or Clark's.

Get one within a hundred yards of the water.  Backhoe.  Dynamite.  We'll make a cut for a boat slip.

I'm trying to figure out if the usage of "presents" in the thread title is some failing effort by the OP to be clever, or signs of of an Aggy level education.

Yeah I saw Panhandle and thought sure I’m a 1% but then realized it wasn’t Texas  that list was talking about so…no…I am not…I’m not giving out any presents either.

I don’t understand what’s going on.

OP is confused about how Surly is defined by percentages (we all make this mistake).

Surly percentages are:

  • 48% are doctors
  • 48% are lawyers
  • 2% are both doctors and lawyers
  • 2% are neither a doctor nor a lawyer

Those are poors.  I'm asking the VC capitalists that sip Chablis in Napa, not pediatricians and public defenders.

And remember, half the lawyers around here will stick a finger up your butt, just like a dr.

You gotta guess which half, though.

Some asshole with too much money bought a bunch of land near me, drilled a bunch of wells, and planted a vineyard.

Here we are ten years later, not a damn drop of wine, and my well went dry.

Fucker.

Nobody ever mentions the engineers.

Probably because, in most circumstances, Engineers have zero problems mentioning themselves. At length. Come to think of it, Elon Musk considers himself and Engineer so it all makes sense.

Okay, I'll fix it.  Surly percentages are:

  • 48% are doctors
  • 48% are lawyers
  • 2% are both doctors and lawyers
  • 2% are neither a doctor nor a lawyer
  • 2% who don't do math good.

my friends dad has a vacation house on that list that we got to spend a few trips at.  does that count?

#42

My vacation estate is in Zapata County. It's doubled in size since the lake has disappeared.  I can get ya'll some staff for the tasks inside or outside the home if needed.
