April 19, 20232 yr Need recs for somewhere to take the family for Mother's Day in Austin. Party of 6, youngest is 8 years old, but he can deal. He's well-behaved. Regardless, true upscale is off the table. That said, I want it to be good to great food, as my wife has had a bit of a tough year and needs good family time. There are spots available at some of our old standbys, emphasis OLD -- Manuel's, Clay Pit, Vivo, Roaring Fork -- but there have to be better options. Italian might be good. My wife and I like Juliet, but . . . booked. Alternatives? North has disappointed lately, not going there, at least in the Domain. I'm behind on local Italian. Interior or other Mexican? Fonda San Miguel and Suerte are booked. Broad menus like Hyde Park B&G would work well, but . . . booked. There has to be somewhere else in that vein but less long in the tooth. Wife actually likes Cover 3, but gross, and booked. Can't do Asian or straight seafood, food allergies. Help?

I have a couple of noon & 7 PM reservations nailed down, it's not hopeless, I was just wondering what places we might not have considered. Edited April 19, 20232 yr by jimmyjazz
