Texas isn't that close to end of season Ohio State. Julian saiyan is so much better than game 1. He was fucking in NYC for the Heisman ceremony and it wasn't weird.

Its not close. Georgia, Indiana, Ohio State are on a different level.

I didn't follow the BUG much as they had only a few good games.

Georgia? a good loss vs Bama, good wins vs Texas, Ole Miss, SECCG, but then scares against Florida, Auburn, and GTech with 3 body bag wins.  I think UGA is just a good team.

The loss in revenue for Texas from not playing ND at home would more than be made up for by making the playoffs. So let’s increase our odds of doing that while also telling ND to go fuck themselves.

  • I don’t even care that they’re independent. I don’t care that they’re mad, everyone who is left out has a right to be mad, I’m still bitter about 2011. They also can be mad that the committee waited t

That's what ND is. Maybe.

Reminder, the excluded the #1 offense to feature two teams that managed their one touchdown at the 58 minute.  What a steaming pile.

By the way #1 offense by what metric exactly? Lol

i mean that sucks and all, but allowing a team that struggled to score 3 points against Miami to score 41 on you is what made you lose

The first two games were the hardest, after which ND adjusted the defensive rotation.  We're much better than August's team and would have been favorites over everyone today except maybe Oregon.

Well you didn't play another team with a pulse after the first two aside from USC , how would you know?

Lots of teams improved since August that's what they do.

Texas actually beat two of the playoff teams.

BYU probably would have done well as anyone the first round as well

Prove it

Oh wait you can't oopsie

Sure. It's possible that a team that hadn't been threatened since week 4 would also be stuck in a 3-3 tie with 4 minutes left.  Or hey, maybe we refuse to run the ball against Alabama with our two soon be drafted RBs.  And while we are dreaming, perhaps James Madison University produced a tv ratings bonanza.

I am going to laugh my ass off if this comes to fruition. ND cried and played the victim, quit on the season, and gave Marcus Freeman all the free time in the world to consider jumping ship.

He just loves staying home after the regular season, doesn’t he?

Now we know why Freeman didn’t want to play the bowl game.  He’s already moved on.

Michigan and Notre Dame in the market for a coach in January, well after the carousel has taken a full spin would be something to see.

USC/ND series is over. And this why BYU being left out of the playoff was good.

Uh oh, better opt out of the conference season, how dare anyone beat the mighty irish.

Well, will you look at that. LFG!

I notice that we made sure we start at our home first, to avoid any shenanigans.

Don't have to imagine ND could be down 41-40 or 27-24 vs either of these teams, because that actually happened.

You got beat on the field.  The old days of using figure skating judges to choose a champion are over.

you played them in '12 and '13 but both were in south bend - why was that?

and was the one-off in vegas 3 years ago related to that in any way?

We had a 6 game contract during independence with ND. It was a 2-for-1 home/away balance. We needed good games as an independent and so we were grateful at the time to get such a big series with so many games with ND. We had agreed to play 2 games in Bend first and did that, as you noted. We were trying to get the return game in Provo scheduled and then they made the deal with the ACC in 2012 that complicated the series and delayed the third game. It ended up that they wouldn't fulfill their agreement to come to Provo, but we ended up negotiating and playing a neutral in Vegas to close out the shortened deal, playing only 3 of the 6 game deal.

Well this is a nice miserable end to a stupid year.  We can blame the playoff for disincentivizing quality OOC matchups, yeah it's all their fault.

I believe that we owe you a home game or three.  And/pr BYUcould quietly join the ACC.

I did answer, just not the answer you wanted.  Screaming to censor differing opinions shows that your are worthless.

let me add additional clarity

you *responded* and you choose to believe you answered the question and project your rationale for my rejection of your response because you live in an alternate reality tunnel called domerism

NY Giants organization is a cesspool though. Not sure I'd want that job. But if Freeman has NFL aspirations, I guess you take it and show them what you got. They have some good pieces on offense, although all of them seem to be injured. I'm curious what the pay will be compared to ND

ND has now canceled with Michigan, Michigan state and USC.

if only we had some way to show how a ND game against a team in the playoff would go…. Oh wait, we have two and they lost them both. Grow the fuck up and stop bitching until you actually win some of these games.

Right, like a guy I know didn't divorce his wife just because he got a sweet deal on that hooker downtown.

Their independence came off of several years in the MWC and the norm for G5 was 2 for 1 deals. Those games were probably scheduled while BYU was still in the MWC. Either way that’s likely why it was 2 for 1. Odd that the first two were in South Bend instead of 1-1-1, just asking for shenanigans.

USC signed off on the MoU back in March, along with all the other Big Ten schools. They're just using it as an excuse.

Yeah I thought all the schools voted on the format. I’m pretty sure ESPN made clear that there’s more money giving ND a path. They draw ratings maybe even more so now from haters Dallas Cowboys style.

The MOU only applies if the playoff remains at 12 or goes to 14.  If it goes to 16 which is most likely, the MOU will never matter.

Randomly watched a YouTube reel about top 10 colleges with most nfl players all time. Notre dame was first with 644 players. USC, Ohio state, Michigan, Alabama, LSU, Penn state, Georgia, Oklahoma and Florida complete the list in that order. 644 nfl players is a lot. Texas is behind Florida by 10 or so I believe.
