Ohio State players in the Transfer Portal:

5 ️ WR Julian Fleming
5 ️ QB Kyle McCord
4 ️ RB Evan Pryor
4 ️ S Cam Martinez
4 ️ DE Omari Abor
4 ️ LB Reid Carrico
4 ️ S Kye Stokes
4 ️ CB Jyaire Brown
4 ️ CB Ryan Turner
3 ️ OL Jakob James
3 ️ C/G Vic Cutler
K Parker Lewis

Give me those two OL asap

If all goes well, we could get Parker Lewis since he can't lose

I noticed in The Athletic's transfer portal article they noted that, although Nolen and Jardin announced their intention to transfer, A&M has not entered either player in the portal. Do any of our portal experts know if this something that the schools can hold up unilaterally? It strikes me as extremely Aggie to refuse to do so in an attempt to strongarm players in to coming back.

Schools have 48 hours to enter them

As other posters have said, there's a 2 day clock. Also, those guys aren't in the portal yet becuase it was their first step in negotiating more money with aTm.

Either Missouri or Oklahoma, based on comments from his "advisor" in the process.  Probably Missouri, unless this dude reached out to BV directly before entering the portal.

I've always liked Pride, but he got passed up by younger guys. Interesting that he's the #1 rate corner. Most think he had a good relationship with Venables and wants to link back up

5’11 corners give me heartburn, but i’ll take depth at CB all day.

I honestly expected him to be a starter this year, I bet Venables can get the most out of him

It would take two years to wash the aggy stench off of any aggy portallers.

Tallied 17 combined tackles this year with no sacks. In 2022 he had 31/3/1.

Also Stewart liked the post if you are the kind that reads into such things.

Aggy

nobody-gonna-love-you-like-i-do-dylan-sc

and they might be right because everyone knows these guys are mercenaries and probably will under perform and may transfer the very next year.

Evan, Shamar, or Smalley?

Best player available. Nahlin mentioned some portal numbers for specific positions the other day and left 1 spot open for a player that would be too good to pass up.

Ha. What a giant pussy that program is. Boo hoo. Big bad Texas is getting a Texan back, must be tampering, goshdammit!

Get a fucking grip and find other programs to fuck with going forward.

Isn't this the second offseason he has considered transferring back to the State of Texas through UT? Seems more likely he has struggled being so far from home..

Yeah but also… if we’re tampering that just means we care about a trophy. And it’s not like Michigan is getting fucked with. Tamper away gentlemen, tamper away.

Former Clemson DB Andrew Mukuba is expected to commit to Texas by the end of the weekend.

For the life of me, I can't understand why Catalon would transfer.

Those elite EDGE players are going to be very expensive.  If we spend big there, it seems like we'd have less to spend on other positions or to retain current players.  An elite pass rusher would be amazing though.  It feels like we haven't had one in so many years.

Scattershooting recruiting notes on a pair of potential portal targets

Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247)

— In the stampede yesterday I wrote about Texas Tech wide receiver Jerand Bradley, who is now officially in the transfer portal with two years left of eligibility. Texas, along with several other programs have already shown interest in the 6-foot-5, 215 pound wide receiver and he’s sure to hear quite a few more offers as he’ll be one of the more coveted pass catchers on the market.

Earlier today I was able to speak with a source near Bradley who told me that the Texas Tech transfer will start the process of scheduling visits sometime this weekend. Based off where things currently stand, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Longhorns were to get Bradley in on a visit as Texas was one of five programs mentioned by the source when I asked which programs have the most buzz at the moment.

The other schools mentioned were Louisville, Oklahoma, UCLA, and USC. Bradley’s process will take some time to play out though, and just like any other receiver on the market that Texas is in play for, timing is of the essence.

— UTSA redshirt sophomore EDGE Trey Moore was one of the bigger names to enter the transfer portal today as the 6-foot-3, 235 pounder posted 14 sacks, 17.5 tackles for loss, 45 total tackles, four pass deflections, one forced fumble, and one interception through 12 starts in 2023. Having two years left of eligibility with numbers like that that followed a more then solid year in 2022 where Moore posted 8 sacks and 59 tackles, he’s sure to be one of the more coveted players at the EDGE position in all of the portal.

Knowing that, I checked in with a source in San Antonio who told me that while Moore’s process will take some time to play out, it’s Texas who’s Moore’s current favorite school. I’ve yet to talk to a single source to get a read on how Texas’ side views Moore, but as talented as he is I don’t think anyone in the country will be turning him down and if so it’ll be a small handful at the very most.

A good edge rusher showing up in the portal is extremely rare and just like the NFL, it’s common that pass rushers are the second highest paid position in the portal following the quarterback position. That said, NIL will play a crucial role in Moore’s recruitment just as it does for the large majority of high profile portal prospects, and I’d expect many impressive offers to be thrown at Moore over the next few days as he works out scheduling some visits.

— Last but not least, I’m really starting to feel good about Texas’ chances of flipping McKinney five-star safety Xavier Filsaime off of his Florida pledge. While I doubt a flip would happen before the official visit is taken on Dec. 15-17, I still feel really good about the Longhorns’ chances of adding what would be their fourth five-star prospect to the 2024 recruiting class. This one feels really similar to other high profile flips the staff has pulled off in the past, and as we’re now 10 days away from Filsaime’s official visit starting — the stars are starting to align.
