  • I played the north course a few years back.  LACC is one where caddies are required.  By the end, I could tell the caddy just wanted me to pick it up and get the fuck out.  It's a bitch of a course.

This was a curiously emotional watch for me. My Dad died at the end of 12/19. My boys and my Mom were over for dinner We’ve been watching all weekend. And the story resonated. Good for him

So dj showed up with Wayne. I wonder if he was just behind the ropes following along. You could be minding your business watching at a tee box and hear “nice shot, eh” and suddenly Gretzky is next to you.

Man that 15th green is a witch. Almost no shot at birdie if you leave it above the hole.

How could you not have a shit eating grin on your face putting that hole location in?

Made for some good entertainment though.

Clark's not wrong.

Quote

"I mean, it’s a little ridiculous we teed off that late," Clark said. "I would say right around hole 15 or 16 it started getting to where you couldn't see that well. I mean, I don't personally understand why we teed off — we played twilight golf.

Some talking heads saying no way either player in the final pairing wins today... I wouldn't mind watching a playoff between Scottie and Rickie   😋

Tee times below are CST

This course and leaderboard shapes up for what should be an awesome finish. If any of the guys in groups 2-4 goes out in 29 like Kim did yesterday and either Clark or Fowler don't take advantage of the early scoring holes things should get really interesting. Fowler is having the tournament of his life--primarily with his putter--but can he keep it going for 18 more holes? Personally I like Rory or Scottie to take it with Xander the dark horse. That 73 yesterday was costly.

#363

Could you imagine having to suspend a playoff due to darkness because you just had to tee off late to get the back 9 in prime time for the eastern half of the country?

the 1 hour earlier start probably eliminates that but it’s still going to finish pretty late. The earlier guys are still playing for their payday and won’t be hitting it on the trot.

I felt like every time they showed English he was scrambling, but he never really dropped.

xander might be thinking about the two shots he just gave away in the first 3 shots of his round yesterday.  I am, and I only had to watch it.

Every time he runs his mouth he shits the bed. He said Augusta National wasn't any harder than the US amateur and then dropped way down the leaderboard, before yesterdays round he said he felt like he belonged on tour and shoots a 79.

Perfect aggy

It’s going to be a great final round ….

You didn’t mention how LACC bought 4000 of those 9,000 so 5000 actual fans

USGA is doing everything they can to make the fans an afterthought for this Open.

It’s revolutionary. I wish they had thought of it 20 years ago.

Yeah but this course is awesome!

Had no idea they’ve already been awarded 2039 US Open

Yes, it’s a fantastic golf course and the leaderboard is compelling. But with scoring records being broken all week in addition to the crowd situation

The course is awesome.  It’s on a lot of top 20 in the country lists.  It’s a great club too.  They rarely, if ever, let in entertainment industry people.  That’s a huge plus.  It’s a bunch of lawyers, doctors, bankers, etc., that love golf.  I was fortunate to play it in 2016 and it’s an amazing place.

Really wish "The US Open" was not returning to this course in 2039.

What a joke

All they’ll need to do is narrow the fairways and it’ll play correctly.

I mean in the context of where we should be playing US Opens.

It could be Augusta West and it wouldn't matter if they can't get more fans between the ropes.

Yes, I get the point.  I don’t particularly care about the gallery.  I just want to see good golf.  The course played easier this week for a couple of reasons but it’s still a great venue.  I’m loving it.

Yeah the wide fairways, terrible Thursday set-up, lack of tickets for normal fans, and stupid late tee times have really hurt this US Open.

I just can't respect the two 62's shot in the opening round...

This has not been a good venue for golf fans wanting to attend "The US Open"
