Let’s hope that continues when we join the sec.

the good news is we just have to finish 5th or 6th in the SEC to host.  we'll be hosting almost every year or we will have a new coach.

I’m hoping for a new coach and to host every year.

Odds of making the CWS. A lot of SEC near the top.

If A&M and Texas do both come out of their regionals, I would pay good money to be in the war room where the NCAA decides which of those 2 gets to host the Super.

Would it not go to us? Better overall record, won the regular season conference, and beat them as well.

I actually think there is a pretty decent chance of that happening.  In that case would it come down to who had the best bid package, or would aggy host because they won the 8 seed regional?

NCAA decision...which in this case would probably come down solely to the $$ bid

If neither of the #1 seeds win their regionals, then the teams that did advance are asked to submit a bid for hosting if they want to host. NCAA reviews the bids and decides who to award the hosting privileges to.

aggy will do a “go fund me” to get to host!

No, regionals are always scheduled Friday to Monday (if necessary).  You might be thinking of super regionals where half are Fri-Sun and half are Sat-Mon.

Texas should host.  Beat them head to head.  Also our stadium holds more fans than theirs

Neither will make it out of this weekend so it's moot anyway

I thought all of the bid packages had to be submitted prior to the host selection

Yeah that’s…not ideal for the Stillwater regional.  I know they were weekday games and our pitching depth dictated the b-team, but didn’t exactly fare well against DBU (who was in host consideration most of the season) and ORU during the season.

Also sure there are a lot of sore arms after six games in five days.

Oh well, play the hand you’re dealt.

Other notes about the tournament:

  • Vanderbilt has the longest active streak with its 17th straight appearance. Texas is in the tournament for a record 62nd time. Florida State (23-31) saw its record-tying streak of regional appearances end at 44.
  • Tulane (19-40), which won the American Athletic Conference tournament as the No. 7 seed, has the most losses of any team to ever make the national tournament. The Green Wave's reward is a spot in the Baton Rouge Regional and an opening game against LSU.
  • Summit League champion Oral Roberts is on the longest win streak in the nation, at 18 games. Clemson has won 16 in a row.
  • Connecticut is in a regional for a fifth straight time for the first time since the 1950s.
  • There are no teams making their first appearances, but Penn is in for the first time since 1995, Santa Clara for the first time since 1997 and San Jose State for the first time since 2002.

Austin would get selected over College Station.  Bigger stadium, more hotels, and oh yeah-the NCAA's television partner who pays out the fucking ass for post-season broadcasting rights already has half their gear here.  It's a no-brainer, which means A&M won't understand it.

I think we're headed to Palo Alto though.  Okay then, don't make a shit.  We win East Coast, we win West Coast, then we retake Corn Country.

Let's fucking RIDE!

Yeah getting all of our home games on TV for the past dozen years has been terrible. Awful. I long for the days of not seeing our team on TV.

Everything will be streaming after the transition. ESPN+ for days. I hope that makes you happy.

Unless LHN transitions as part of the SEC Network or something.

I can get ESPN+ and Sec, but can't get LHN

Kentucky regional already a disaster. Zero hotel room due to some hillbilly festival. Teams are staying in the dorms. Fans are fucked 😂😂

State HS Championships in the area also, maybe they can use the paddocks at Keeneland?

So annoying, they just love pairing us with midweek teams that love to beat us. I feel like we've taken care of ORU in regionals before when it matters, but they are by no means a 4 seed. I get their RPI is low because the Summit League doesn't have much fire power, but they ran through it like a hot knife through butter. They are a good team, at least a 3 seed. We absolutely must win that first game. Our pitching isn't deep enough to get us through the losers bracket again. We had nothing left in the tank against TCU because of the extra games. I think we would have won the tournament had we taken care of ou from the start.

I actually think UT and OU have an easier path to the supers that OSU. But I might just be overly negative, comes with the orange shirt at freshman orientation.

I def agree with that and have said it before.  Can be the hardest to explain to folks that are unfamiliar, however.

I would love to see the basketball tournament take on the baseball/softball format.  I know it will never happen for many reasons, but one can dream.

Indeed on the best format…. you’re allowed a mulligan one game per weekend, best performers during the season get rewarded, literally every team has a fair chance but every team has to earn the hardware

Basketball upsets would go down considerably. Those that result in the dog advancing anyway.

If you don't have LHN, it's blacked out on ESPN+.

This is not new.

The old format was better, and you cannot argue with that.

No. This is not correct.

The games are on ESPN+, it is being simulcast on LHN. That is different from if it is a LHN production.

I don't know. The old format was hell on pitching staffs. I think this is better for how college teams are currently built.
