  • That's not true. Chelsea has a £500m bench.

Disappointing outcome, but I had an unbelievable experience last night.   Took a stadium tour before the game.   Watched from the North End nosebleed, and would do it all again in a heartbeat.

Need Rice to absolute boss today.   This midfield is beyond meh outside of him.

Intensity has been taken to 11

This match ain’t likely to end 11 v 11

I didn’t see it live, but how could VAR look at that elbow to the head and not call a red card

What happened with the 4 yellows in one minute?

Havertz foul & Newcastle protesting too much

What I’d give for one of Partey Odegaard or Jesus to be healthy.

Eddie has mostly been useless probably time to try Trossard not sure we have anyone on the bench to help the midfield

Offside, foul and ball out of play.  VAR let’s it stand.   Fuck this shit league

Nothing to see here…

Thd WWE is less scripted than EPL matches.

From the club

🚨 Arsenal statement:

“Arsenal Football Club wholeheartedly supports Mikel Arteta’s post-match comments after yet more unacceptable refereeing and VAR errors on Saturday evening.

“We’d also like to acknowledge the huge effort and performance from our players and travelling supporters at St James’ Park.

“The Premier League is the best league in the world with the best players, coaches and supporters, all of whom deserve better. PGMOL urgently needs to address the standard of officiating and focus on action which moves us all on from retrospective analysis, attempted explanations and apologies.

“We support the ongoing efforts of Chief Refereeing Officer, Howard Webb and would welcome working together to achieve the world-class officiating standards our league demands.”

Incoming statement from PGMOL:

”Um… yeah…. Bruno should have seen a red in the first half, and the goal shouldn’t have counted for 1) the ball going out of play in the buildup, 2) a foul on the defender, and 3) offsides. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we have to count our Riyals from our working holiday.”

So apparently refs ignoring clear yellow card fouls on Saka isn't just a PGMOL thing.

And Havertz.... free header at the back post and fluffs it.  Sheesh.

Third yellow offense by that Sevilla dude.  Come fucking on, ref.

play has been stopped four times in 17 minutes for fouls on saka, three by the same player, zero cards given. i don’t know how saka puts up with it.

Goal overturned for a foul on the defender in the box. Looks familiar. But then again, not every ref in the world is a Saudi cuck (yet).

Breakthrough was coming.  Keep it up.

Feed Martinelli all day

he’s been unplayable. i don’t remember the last time an arsenal player was this dominant for a half. what a performance so far.

We need another goal or two. I love a good “One nil to The Arsenal” as much as anyone, but Sevilla have some players.

We’ve got our foot on their throat; snap it and move on.

STARBOY!!!!!!

He and Martinelli have been outstanding tonight.

soumare comes on, immediately gets booked, and then injures himself, all within two minutes. helluva night for the young lad.

Well that doesn't look good.

Fuck me.

So Saka, after getting the kicked down all night, none of which were carded, gets a yellow for limping off injured?

Fuck this fucking game.

Havertz is an absolute donkey.   Worst signing since Pepe.

Yeah.  We're going to wish we had that 70m back.

He also got a really nice ball from Rice towards the end and his first touch was Zardes-esque and clanks out for a goal kick.  Until Partey and Odegaard are back or we upgrade in the winter Arsenal are stuck with him playing lots of minutes.   Z hasn’t been real good, this season but I’d rather see him in the midfield at this point.

Saliba... what a player.

Clubs can’t bar players from international matches, but damn if we don’t all know exactly how this is going to go: he’ll return in Jan 2024, play a few matches as a sub to gain fitness before heading off to AFCON, where he’ll suffer a season-ending injury or aggravate the current one.

His skill set is unique, but Arteta built his MF around a guy made of glass. Long past time to find a replacement.

I’m sure he is listed as being worth more but who’d pay anything north of 10 maybe 15m

Doubt we'd get 10m.  Maybe 5 if we're lucky.  Dude is elite when be healthy, but the best ability is availability. He, sadly, has very little availability.

Mikel Arteta will make a late call on the fitness of Bukayo Saka for Saturday’s game against Burnley.

Bukayo came off in the 85th minute of Wednesday’s 2-0 win at home to Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League, and Mikel is hopeful that it’s nothing serious.

“B had to leave the pitch because he was in quite a lot of pain,” he explained. “He trained yesterday and lets see if he can make it tomorrow.”

In terms of the rest of the team news, Mikel confirmed that Jurrien Timber and Thomas Partey are both definitely unavailable, while Emile Smith Rowe will “probably” miss out as well.

“There might be a few more,” he added. “A few are still in contention. We need to give them 24 more hours to give them a chance to be involved in the game, but we won’t know anything until tomorrow.”

Asked to expand on Thomas' situation, Mikel said: "He’s progressing really well but it was a significant injury. Hopefully it’s going to be weeks and not months and he’s working towards that. He needs support and hopefully the injury will heal in the right way and we’ll have him back, because he’s a big player for us.

As for the latest on Martin Odegaard, he added: "He’s still racing (against the clock). He’s trying everything that he can so let’s see. It’s a possibility."

WTF is this camera angle.  Are they using a drone to film the match?

Glad he’s back. Looked like forearm which is way better than shoulder.
