June 29, 20187 yr Draws are out, play begins Monday @ 6 am on ESPN with the bottom halfs in action. Men's pdf Cilic/Dimitrov/Isner on top with Fed, Zverev/del Po/Thiem down with Rafa. Women's pdf Top half looks tougher with Simona/Garbine/Petra/Angie/Ostapenko/Konta/Maria sprinkled throughout. Caroline gets Sloane/Svitolina/Karolina/Keys/CoCo/Serena (#25) in her half.
June 29, 20187 yr Good draw for Fed, tough one for Nadal. Fed gets Coric again in the 4th round and Cilic in the semifinals. Everyone else seems to be in Nadal's half - del Potro, Kyrgios, Djokovic, etc.
June 29, 20187 yr Dimitrov v. Wawrinka first round. Wawrinka has never been a good grass court player so Dimitrov should win comfortably Edited June 29, 20187 yr by perfectchaos007
June 29, 20187 yr That Special seeding exemption really helped Serena. She's guaranteed not to play anyone in the top 100 until at least round 3

Faster surfaces should be good for him though.

July 2, 20187 yr Sloane Stephens is getting blown out by this chick: http://www.wtatennis.com/players/player/318516/title/donna-vekic Her claim to fame is being boned by Stan Wawrinka.
July 2, 20187 yr Federer looking good to start things off. Also, it looks like the UNI QLO rumours were true...

July 2, 20187 yr someone needs to beat that old codger. How could you possibly not like Fed? Most beautiful game ever, total class act , seriously what’s not to like?

Quote Sources say the deal is worth more than $300 million guaranteed over 10 years and has an unprecedented clause that says that Federer will collect the money even if he doesn't play. To put Federer's $300 million Uniqlo deal in perspective, his career on-court earnings are $116.6 million. Sources say the deal could be even more lucrative for Federer, as it includes the right for his team to sell some patches on his shirt. Nike did not allow him to do so.
July 2, 20187 yr Serena had a bit more of a struggle than I'm sure she'd like in the first round. But she made it through. I do like Rus. I like watching lefties play. And she purty.

They are on serve in the 4th set, but the first sets went: Spoiler STAN: 1 7 7 DIMIT: 6 6 6
July 2, 20187 yr The gulf between Dimitrov's physical and mental talent is insane. He has all the technique and tools to succeed but none of the mental toughness.
July 2, 20187 yr Also Coric was just upset in straight sets by Daniil Medvedev, so Federer's path just became a little easier.
July 2, 20187 yr Author Granted I generally only watch the women, but these courts are playing EXTREMELY slow today.
July 2, 20187 yr Serenas draw opened up wider than Donna Vekić legs in an ATP players bedroom! Edit: sorry about that Edited July 2, 20187 yr by perfectchaos007
July 3, 20187 yr Kyrgios lowkey has the best serve in tennis right now and he's even playing more tiebreakers than Isner Edited July 3, 20187 yr by perfectchaos007
July 3, 20187 yr Kyrgios will be dangerous all tournament as long as he's motivated. It's when his first serve % goes down and he starts horsing around in rallies that he loses steam. If he loses the first set against somebody decent, I can see him tanking the match out of frustration. In other news, it looks like just about every successful clay court player outside of Rafa is losing or has lost already today.
July 3, 20187 yr Author Since ESPN+ has fucked us out of all the free matches, 705 on DirecTV will have an amazing match for the eyes in about 5 minutes. Maria v. 27-year old hot Rooskie Vitalia Diatchenko, who isn’t good. Edited July 3, 20187 yr by spystud13 Make that 705
July 3, 20187 yr I remember Diatchenko for that shitty match against Serena at the US Open. Diatchenko ended up retiring from it, but it was God awful.
