Reminds me of the bay area a few years back when they had all the wild fires raging. Felt like I was walking around on another planet in a sci-fi movie.

Orange day 2020 was one of the weirder times of a weird year.

A beautiful 75 degree day outside of my office today.

I miss 1970's New York.

We were down in CT today and the whole time down just felt like it was dusk that it should’ve been later than it was.  Have had to keep our windows at home closed much to the chagrin of our cats.

Oh shit, Chris Christie really is having a press conference.

Boston metro for some reason is missing out on this. Our AQ is in the moderate region, but when look at a map, we aren’t that bad compared to the southwest of here. Even the rest of the state is in pretty bad shape.

Still those colors aren’t great, deep red and purple are in really unhealthy ranges. Take care of yourself out there.

It hasn't rained up here in the PNW since mid-May.  Fire season is going to be a bitch this year.

Really?  We hadn't noticed.

Picture doesn’t look as bad as it did in reality, but it’s definitely passing through Raleigh

You couldn’t see the sidewalks around your feet?

Bringing this back as Boston woke up to a nasty Smokey day.

AQI is in the 150 range, bad if you have asthma or similar.

We’re a lot more to blame for global warming, and global warming denialism, than Canada is. Blame us.

thanks Mr CR - can you tell me if we are more to blame on a per capita basis?
Why do we seem to get our fires under control more quickly, why can't Canada put out these fires? Don't we have leftover PFS flame retardant somewhere to push onto 3rd world countries?
It bothers me because I thought this was mainly a California problem; I don't like it when it affects me, which it has for most of this week.

There are 537 individual fires coast to coast in the 2nd biggest country on earth that have burned 9 million hectares and they’re all in areas without roads or people. But yes let’s pretend America could do better. The Canadian fires are child’s play compared to what Canada is facing

I can’t see across the one mile river I live on due to smoke and being outside more than 30 minutes leads to eye irritation and coughing  it’s fucking brutal and won’t get better until winter since it never really rains anymore. We have a cabin in Canada and can’t visit because it is likely to burn to the ground
