I have always just been a casual fan of Linkin Park with my peak fandom in around 2001 I guess.  Anyway, just went down the YouTube rabbit hole of their catalog and its really sad listening to these songs as it screams out of someone who needs help.

RIP Chester.

Not being sarcastic, I actually didn't know he was dead.

The Chris Cornell death was at about the same time. Shitty time in music.

I remember reading that they were friends and/or Chester really looked up to Chris and how it contributed to his depression and suicide.

i was sad when he died becuase people went through a phase of pretending linkin park was good. one of the worst bands ever.

It was interesting when he died to realize that for many, Linkin Park was not just another name alongside Hoobastank, Crazy Town, whatever. I never took them seriously but I also never really listened.

I actually agree with this emphatically. Solid top 5 worst band ever to me.

But that said, I find his troubles and death very sad.

I was never a fan, but they were easy to avoid, and his death sucked, regardless.
