This is why the Blazers will be stuck in the middle forever. Huge overpay with no competition.

Agreed. Those would be 5 must-watch games every season.

  • I mean they really are pushing the limits of how terrible NBA coverage can be. Before you know it it's going to be 7 women all arguing with Stephen A Smith at the same time.

Cuban seems like a brilliant guy in every other area of business except the Mavericks.  Has he checked out in the last few years?

Yes, and unfortunately he’s much younger than Jerry.

He is a number 4 on a top team. You can’t pay a number 4 guy $30m with this CBA. 3 years, $75m would have been an overpay.

Jackson is such a beating. We will know Disney is completely out of its mind if Mark Jones isn't shown the door.

And now that the dust has settled on the layoffs there can be little doubt that Desmond has pictures, and apparently lots of them. There is no other explanation how a clueless buffoon like him continues to be employed.

Dallas had to go to 3 for 126m for Kyrie because there were at least 3 other teams ready to offer 2 for 25.

Brook Lopez will not be returning to the Bucks, per league sources.

What did they win?  $130M over 3 years for an undersized 30 year old guard who shot 39% from the floor last year.

Besides the Grant terrible deal, the Kuzma one is the next most shocking. I thought the wiz were rebuilding / tanking? Are they trying for the 8th pick again?

#430

Every KAT soundbite I hear from him he sounds delusional about himself and not just in a stars have egos kind of way. What really seems to separate the top guys is the mental side of the game both on the court and off. And desire to win vs other things.

Maybe they think Jordan Poole is a winning basketball player.

And, I mean, I'm not sure who you think is going to be winning them games on this team. Tyus Jones might be their best player. This is a bottom 5 roster in the league easily.

Two years in a row that Portland has committed 9 figured to someone that I had to ask, "Wait...who?"

Partially my fault for not following the league as closely, but what a stuck organization.

Breaking: Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard has requested a trade out of Portland, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. The Miami Heat and Brooklyn Nets are among leading suitors for one of the NBA’s 75 Greatest Players ever.

Portland has the building blocks of a good young team heading into a rebuild and then they go and sign Grant to that contract.  Good Lord.

#437

Wonder what kind of package they can get for Dame?

Quote

Lillard, who turns 33 on July 15, had a career year last season, averaging 32.2 points and 7.3 assists but played just 58 games as he sat out the last month of the season. The highlight of Lillard's season came on February 26 against the Houston Rockets when he exploded for 71 points.

His 32.2 points per game would be the most by a player to change teams the following season, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.

Wow.  Sign and trade maybe?

EuroLeague G Vasilije Micić – one of Europe’s best and most accomplished players – has agreed on a 3-year, $23.5M deal to join the Thunder, Jason Ranne of @Wassbasketball tells ESPN. A two-time EuroLeague champion and an MVP, Micic brings a significant skillset and IQ to OKC.

Draymond was kind the missing piece to dame staying. He was signed with GS at 5:00:01 last night, and Portland signed grant shortly after

Wtf were they thinking? Give it a day so at least you’re not stuck with grant at 35M a year and no direction.

No team is going to steal grant and thus your title hopes in the first 18 hrs of FA.

They're going to sign and trade an unrestricted Euroleague free agent?

#441

Hot take, but at this point I would MUCH rather have 23 yr old Tyler Herro for 4 years / $120M than 33 yr old Damian Lillard for 2 years / $93M.

If I was Portland, I would insist on something like Tyler Herro + Nikola Jovic + 2 first rounders for Dame.  And if I was Miami, I would probably make that trade.  Dame gives them a real shot at a title for a couple of years.

I remember thinking that too, then I saw who was left off and it actually made sense.

Lmao. That’s all?

Well they were 50% undrafted, 2 untouchables and then Tyler…. So yea. Might need to find a sucker with an excessive pick load to give Portland some and unload a bad contract to take herro. So OKC, Utah, SA and NOP?

Keeping him from everything I read.

Starters: SGA, Dort, Giddey, Jalen Williams, and Chet

Bench: Micic, Cason Wallace, Oladipo, Kenny Williams, Isaiah Joe, Wiggins, Dieng, Jaylin Williams and Poku

Thunder are going to sneaky good.

I don't think they're sneaking up on anyone. They almost made the playoffs and had a first team all-NBA, top 5 MVP on the team last season.

Chet has evidently put on weight.  I don't think he'll ever get to 230 or above but I could see him eventually at 220.

Chet Holmgren has weighed in at 208 poundsHe was last at 195 pounds
