June 21, 20232 yr Popular Post We need to dedicate all available resources to finding this sub, bringing it back up to the surface, and stuffing David Concannon in it and dropping it back to the bottom of the ocean.
June 21, 20232 yr After eleven pages, I'm confused on a couple of details that seem to conflict across several posts. 1. The Porthole. Obvious weak point. But in one video, the dome appears to be walled off with a large monitor. But that appears to be the other end (with the porthole being on the dome that doubles as the bolted on hatch. While there are plenty of red flags to cause any functioning human to walk away from this death trap, but idea that they would be viewing the Titanic wreckage on a video screen instead of out of a porthole made it seem like an infinitely greater risk vs. reward equation. As far as I can tell, the porthole was intact and they would be able to look directly at the wreckage if they reached it, which I doubt they did. 2. My initial understanding was that the sub had reached the wreckage on three separate occasions prior to this trip. But in the Sonar Operator video posted above, he says it never had traveled to that depth before. It seems like the CBS reporter said that after the first unsuccessful attempt, they later went down again and reached the wreckage. If this was the first test run to the site, it's nuts that they'd take "not passengers" along. Appreciate any clarification anyone can offer.

June 21, 20232 yr I've read they are dead-bolted inside and cannot be let out without someone doing it for them, so in the chance that they are on the surface somewhere floating along (which is a decent chance) they will still die if not found. Horrible.

I am not onboard and am happy to be convinced otherwise: https://www.nationalgeographic.com/premium/article/titanic-wreck-oceangate-titan-submersible-rescue Quote Is there a chance Titan has made it to the surface and we don’t know it yet? That’s possible: Titan has a series of redundant safety measures that would allow it to dump its ballast and return to surface automatically if there is a system failure or if the pilot is incapacitated. But making it to the surface isn’t enough—because there’s no hatch, passengers would still be reliant on 96 hours of air the ship had when it first headed to the site, until a rescue crew could unbolt the craft and get them out.
June 21, 20232 yr Wonder if billionaire and hundred millionaire would trade their entire net worth to be saved. You live. But you live poor.

June 21, 20232 yr Which design flaw number is building a semisubmersible without a sonar beacon? Is that #3,176?

That it's been proven "untrue" would be news to me, but I'm willing to wait if that isn't the case. I suspect that it's not.

It makes more sense that it’s openable from the inside anyway. So I guess “proven” was the wrong word. More like it’s currently unknown.

June 21, 20232 yr the consensus is that the bolts are only secured on the outside. Now it's possible there's a method to open from the inside but only the company would know and I don't believe they mentioned it. Even if the people inside could open it at the surface, they would have to be quick as I imagine water would be rushing in.

June 21, 20232 yr I mean I am sure they have checked under the mothership, Polar Prince, to make certain the Titan submersible isn’t stuck underneath the damn mothership somehow? I do (assuming they are all still alive and JUST running out of oxygen and sitting around waiting to die) feel bad for the 19 year old. The rest including his dad are all 48 and much older. Hope it wasn’t something he drug his dad to do or vice versus with their billions.
June 21, 20232 yr Hey now if he sez he saw a TikTok commenter say it was that way, who are any of us to tell him otherwise... Anybody want to do a little TikTok commenter research and see if we can figure out who really killed Kennedy? My money is still on the Mob but who knows maybe the Nazis really did complete that Time Machine they were working on...
June 21, 20232 yr Has there been any talk about when the manned or unmanned subs can get to the site to explore the wreck for them? Not as a rescue but from recovery or at least to learn more.

June 21, 20232 yr I saw a spokesperson from the search effort say they would address that problem after they locate the sub. I have to assume there are people giving some thought to the possible solutions already. It seems like waiting until you locate them might be too late to start planning the rescue. But I don’t know what technology we have to rescue them from the bottom of the ocean 2.5 miles deep even if we located them right now at this very moment. What would they use a flattened collapsed sub for? Put it on the state fair midway tour next to the Bonnie and Clyde Ford, Jayne Mansfield’s Buick, and James Earl Ray’s Mustang??

It was pretty well known where she was by position reports and it still took 77 years to find her. She was 306 feet in length (a football field) and assuming some of her bridge still remained after the battle and is sitting upright, she'd be between 40-50 feet in height. They aren't going to find the Oceangate for a while. Right.

Ballard has frequently talked about how they found the Titanic by realizing that it was much easy to find the larger debris field and then follow it to the Titanic. If the sub is not on the surface or stuck on or near the Titanic, we may never find it.
