June 22, 20232 yr Has anyone kept up with some of this stuff? Kick is trying to take over Amazon backed Twitch and creating a platform for game, IRL, and etc streaming. Kick is signing away some elite talent from Twitch on massive deals such as 50-100 million dollar deals. But Kick is trying to focus on mid to low level streamers with an hourly payment to streamer plan. From what I gather there will be a sliding scale for that pay.
June 22, 20232 yr Is Kick the one that basically allows anything including pirated streams of movies and naked chicks? If so I heard Jeff Gertsmann talk about it a couple months back and it didn't seem like something that would last without a model change to avoid lawsuits.
June 22, 20232 yr Kick also seems a bit sketchy with being a little too into crypto and NFT stuff. Mixer also tried to take on Twitch with high profile signings of streamers. Didn't help them much and now all those guys are back on Twitch. YouTube live streaming is really the only legit competition for Twitch.

If they had a UI that was worth a shit and organized in categories it would be better. the interesting thing is the major signings so far are non exclusive. So basically XQC streams on both. Kick is essentially paying for advertising on Twitch through this type of deal.
