If watching a game like this doesn’t make you fall in love with the World Cup I don’t know what to say. This is the reason I savor and can’t wait for this tournament to come around.

  • If every game were like this, soccer would be a Top 3 sport in the U.S. by the 2026 World Cup.

  • Keeps the game relatively smooth.  It's a battle of momentum that waxes and wanes.  Fuck the millisecond management of basketball and A.Football

ref is an equal opportunity no-caller, he wants everyone actually with broken bones or dead before he calls a yellow

There’s one

yeah and the ball was also kicked out the goalies hands and the ref didnt call anything there either, i wonder if he had scored if VAR  could overturn it based on it being a clear review of the ball being kicked out of the goalies hands?

Don't think he had possession, but yeah, worth another look.

And when the ref lets literally half a dozen yellow cards go as simple fouls, this is what you get: people kicking at goalies and destroying each other on tackles.

Reminds me of the old USA-Italy match.  That's what it took for McBride to get a call.

lol suarez with another fake head wound

RIP. Where do we send the wreath.

Suarez was down for about 25 minutes. So 4 minutes it is

4 minutes stoppage time

Interesting. Figured it would be 8 to allow Ronaldo more time

yeah, maybe at the next WC, FIFA need to maybe start a running clock based on stoppage and injury time that is viewable.    That way we will have a fucking real idea of how much time is left. Because Suarez's bullshit alone was easily  4 mins today

yeah the hand was up but both the players were in a natural jumping position, and the URG got knocked off his balance by the goalie's hit

Amazing how much that Cedric penalty call affected the tournament. Portugal never should have been here.

4 old dudes trying to figure out how to play videos on Facebook.

The ambiguous time management of soccer is so infuriating compared to the ‘to the second’ procedures of American football.

uruguay is going to put up more of a fight than argentina; G/M/P will have a harder time of it than they had this morning.  if cavanni can go it's going to be a fantastic game.
