If watching a game like this doesn’t make you fall in love with the World Cup I don’t know what to say. This is the reason I savor and can’t wait for this tournament to come around.

  • If every game were like this, soccer would be a Top 3 sport in the U.S. by the 2026 World Cup.

  • Keeps the game relatively smooth.  It's a battle of momentum that waxes and wanes.  Fuck the millisecond management of basketball and A.Football

Hard to imagine that won't be the best game of the tournament.

As far as wagens for americans to jump on.................are we down to brazil and belgium?

Better go with Belgium. The Brazil hate is palpable.

Plus, our defense is suspect as fuck.

Looks like Argentina's players all recovered from their gunshot wounds.

The Pope sent Holy Water for his favorite team, because he knows that they are prone to being shot by snipers.

I thought that without David Luis, Brazil’s defense would be better, but they're not great. But they’re not bad either.

I don’t like willian and think he will make a mistake that truly affects Brazil’s chances. I haven’t read an update on Marcelo. Hopefully he is back. Definitely feeling Alves’ absence. No, not the worst defense, especially for set pieces, but scared someone will go unmarked.

no lalas

mexico have not "done it plenty of times"

mexico have won a round of 16 game twice, both times on their own soil in '70 and '86.

and that's it.

before 1970 they never got out of group

since '86 after their cheating-aggy-ban for 1990 they lost their sweet 16 match in '94, '98, '02, '06, '10 and '14.

All.

Of.

Them.

Some dumbass women reporter in Argentina asked standard questions and guy looks at her with a you are an idiot look.

Q: What do we need to correct for the next game?

A. We do not have a next game.

Q. Well next opportunity. Do we have time?

A. We got 4 years.

Adios you dirty douchebags. Don’t forget to take Maradona with you.

It’s ok, I got shot down by the hot, rich Argentinean girls in college too. I didn’t become a raging cunt about it  like you. I tagged me a hot one when I went down there

Why couldn't Portugal go with their red kits? Much better look. Ready for 90 minutes of Ronaldo and The Biter being incredulous that they didn't get a penalty called.
