"Ban pornography!  Won't somebody think of the children!"

(checks Ken Paxton's porn browser history)

"Okay man, not what I meant about thinking about the children!"

Yeah.....it's not about "protecting minors."  It never was.  It's about implementing and imposing the Puritanical Fundagelical Morality State of Texas.  Period.  Full stop.  It's Christofascism, which is different from Islamofascism in only a few respects (yay....we can still buy bacon).

Yeah, it’s a couple of weird millionaires/billionaires throwing some money around that are trying to make us worse than Mississippi and Florida.

FIF the actual truth.

You live in the Fundagelical Christian State of Texas.  Check your liberties - especially each and every of your sexual/bodily liberties, at the border.

No wonder why y’all are so busy online. Pornhub not accessible. Waiting for the lawsuits from people with an addiction to porn at some point. We live in very bizarre and strange times.

I know one Texas 'leader' who is already going back to the Lane Bryant catalogue.

I mean, not to jerk off to.  It's just where he gets his clothes.

Interesting statement from ph saying that their answer to Texas law limiting protected speech is to limit that speech themselves.

Unlikely the majority of porn sites, PornHub has American assets that Paxton can try and go after while the lawsuits are worked out.

I’ll be telling any older relatives that ask for help that if they don’t get a VPN and instead do the ID verification thing, the state of Texas will know that they’ve accessed porn.  I need to included VPN affiliate links when I mention that to them.

This like capturing one feral hog and declaring the prevalence of online porn fixed.

Internet porn will never die, just multiply.

Windscribe is a VPN provider.  I know nothing about them.  But they have a thread from last summer on Twitter breaking all this down:  a company (Envoc)  behind the verification process is a contributor to GOP politics, so....take that how you wish.  Not intending to cloak room this, but yeah, you get the idea.   I pulled this from Reddit:

just pointing out that at least one company, Envoc, stands to gain from this law being passed. They currently handle the age verification system for Louisiana (which costs $$ for the end-user, aka you, to use), stand to be the vendor used in other states' age verification systems, and have donated heavily to congResscRitteRs who've pushed for such age verification laws. They're also pretty shady and unethical, but I guess those are beside the point. Thisxitter thread explains it better than I would

6 U.S states and soon to be more will require a Digital Licence to view adult material. We imagine we'll see a lot more sign ups in those states...But, it's a painting a dark future for an open internet as these bills aren't just about getting on (and off) @pornhub

Time for a 21 load salute

Considering the average age of Surly, you are not going to get 7 Surlys to line up and fire off 3 rounds. It's going to take 21 to 25 of them to get 21 shots fired.

Pornhub was making us all lazy anyway. Back in my day we searched for shady bittorrents and we liked it.

Paxton’s wife thinks PornHub = entire industry and that there are no easy work arounds.

My bill created an age verification requirement for online pornography websites in Texas to protect minors from accessing their harmful content. After insistent fighting against it, the pornography industry is being forced to comply with the law. #txlegehttps://t.co/dbYrnfFIe1

Imagine the staffer that has to sit down these chucklefucks and explain to them what a VPN is.

I'm also picturing a wave of anti-VPN legislation in the near future.

I know. Instead of getting your porn in 2 seconds you might need 10 seconds.

On the other hand, right wing politics is more popular among men so I hope these Republican politicians keep going after our porn.

I’m sure a few of these lawmakers are invested in VPN companies and we don’t even know it.
