Cremate me and grind my bones, then spread my ashes in a Pacific NW forest.

After two weeks of early summer bass tournaments, I want to be cremated and then mixed in with a sack of Quickcrete and formed into some vessel-sinking mass that rises up to just-below surface level when some lifting device is triggered when it senses Back in Black blaring over a set of tower speakers.

So, …the Lord’s Supper. Communion.

Christians are always talking about seeing our passed loved ones in heaven, but we don’t know how that would work. Jesus didn’t say much more about heaven other than that it wasn’t like what anyone was expecting.

But… there is The Lord’s Supper. I believe there aren’t millions of communions happening each week. I believe there is only one Conmunion, ever, and it started two thousand years ago in a small room. When we participate, we are in communion with every saint who came before and every saint who will ever be. The last couple, I have taken the wafer and wine (juice) and focused on a dead relative, thinking, “I do this with you, Grandma (for example)”. I imagine them in the church I knew them in, and I feel their presence. You know, we perceive time as linear, but I don’t know that it has to be so.

I don’t think Jesus had a dog, but my hope for heaven is crossing that rainbow bridge and spending eternity with all of my dogs

Yeah, I probably won't wave.

Hard to think about waving when you're on fire...

Cremation all the way.  Burial is becoming a thing of the past.  It was a big deal for my father, who died in 2021 and my mother, now 87.  She loves visiting his grave.  I haven’t been back to the grave-site since the funeral.
