September 16, 20241 yr US women's U-20 team is in the quarters of the U-20 World Cup in Colombia. we're playing Germany right now. Germany was up 1-0 and then scored in the second minute of stoppage time. i changed the channel. then changed it back to see that the US scored in the 90+8 and then tied in 90+9. extra time is over. going to a shootout on FS2.
September 16, 20241 yr US wins 3-1 on PKs. Germany made their first, then missed the next two by not putting the ball on goal, then missed the fourth on a save. ze Germans are crushed. stunned disbelief.

September 16, 20241 yr Here’s the shootout in its entirety. Go to 2:15 if you want to see the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.
September 18, 20241 yr US playing the semis now. Down 1-0 to North Korea. 15 minutes plus stoppage time left.

October 23, 20241 yr Anyone going to see the USWNT v. Iceland tomorrow at Q2? Looks like there are very few tickets left on the secondary market - should be a good atmosphere.
October 25, 20241 yr Went to the game last night. Attendance wasn't awesome but the lower level filled out pretty well by the 20' mark. No Rodman, which was a bit of a bummer. I'd have liked to see Girma challenged a bit more, so she could shine, but she is clearly all class. Rose is impressive - it's hard not to think of her as the babyfaced rookie and weird to me that she's now one of the vets. I love her style, especially on defense - she gives zero fucks about your space. We were 4th row in the 1H US attacking corner so had a great view of Alyssa Thompson and holy hell is she impressive. Her feet are ridiculous - jackrabbit quick. More impressive maybe was her defense - there was a large Viking looking blonde on a big run and a lot of green in front of her and 7 caught her from behind and tucked in between her and the ball like an idiot hatchback cutting off an 18wheeler in a dashcam video - clean steal and left the Viking on the ground punching grass. Curious if they shouldn't play her on the left side more often (where she got her goal) instead of the right, where she was most of the night, and seemed to be looking to serve instead of score. I don't watch USWNT so I could be way off on that. I would have liked to see them be more aggressive in settled play in the final 1/4 of the field. So many times they were holding the ball looking for a way to break the defense, and there were opportunities w/ off-ball players calling for the ball ahead and the ball carrier couldn't/wouldn't pull the trigger. Way too many crosses to no one in desperation (think I counted at least 4?).
November 30, 20241 yr Girma solid as always. Alyssa Thompson playing well. Sears kinda being ok. Horan letting herself get wo-manhandled

December 20, 20241 yr How many bars are gonna buy netflix to broadcast games, likely just the soccer-specific type places. And considering all the streaming price hikes, lord only know what Netflix is gonna cost come 2031, I'm guessing both WCs people wont be able to buy a single month sub, probably make you do a 1/2 or full year.

Who knows what streaming will look like in the future as it’s changing fast. But Peacock didn’t require any type of contract for the Olympics and they spent a shit ton of money on rights and production and did a masterful job. Best $7 I’ve ever spent.
December 20, 20241 yr Well there is a pretty straight arrow sign as to where streaming is headed, much much higher prices (for the ones with sports), password sharing locked down, and ultimately long-term contracts only.
February 21Feb 21 1-0 us at the half on a really nice goal. Nighswong doing a good job to get open. Heaps (Horan) needs to play with more hustle and intensity
February 22Feb 22 Only in spirit and maybe not even that. That’s way past my bedtime on a school night

February 23Feb 23 Interesting. Just looked at the matchday schedule. The ticket says 430 pm, but that's when Australia vs Colombia starts. I didn't realize that there would be multiple games
February 27Feb 27 USA answers. Ally Sentnor with a clinical finish in the 14th minute. Entertaining game to start
February 27Feb 27 Japan scores coming out of halftime. Keeper can't catch a pretty decent free kick and Japan pounces on the rebound. 2-1 Japan has the goal difference, so a win or draw gets them the cup.
February 27Feb 27 Alright, I tuned in so you wouldn't have to talk to yourself. TBS for anyone interested, about the 59th minute.
