July 1, 20187 yr 16:28 'Great save' Croatia 1-1 Denmark Pat Nevin Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live It's a great save by Schmeichel and it shouldn't have been a red card for Zanka because he made an attempt to win the ball. The referee got it right.
July 1, 20187 yr and gotta love how they dont even bother reviewing the PK when it clearly shows Schemich taking a full step forward
July 1, 20187 yr Found the rule: Quote The Laws of the Game 2016-2017 are aimed to change the “triple punishment” rule. Triple as in: (1) red card, (2) penalty kick opponents and (3) suspension. Because it’s outside the box, there will be no penalty kick, so no triple punishment. The rule basically means – full details below – that if a player is challenging an opponent for the ball in the penalty area and he fouls a player in goal-scoring position, the offender only gets a yellow and not a red card. Basically in the box the DOGSO is only a yellow to not result in a triple punishment.
July 1, 20187 yr wow, I guess I need to re-read the rules, because that was a redcard in my day, every single time.
July 1, 20187 yr Great takedown to give them a chance, great save. Still not sure I understand the no red card rule, that’s ridiculous.
July 1, 20187 yr I had forgotten myself. They got rid of the triple jeopardy (PK, red, suspension). So if it's last man outside the box, it's a straight red. In the box, PK.Ahhhh. Taparep to you sir.
July 1, 20187 yr It was only changed maybe 3 years ago because it is such a back breaker for teams in some circumstances. This isn't the same as the Colombia opener. That handball is always a red card.
July 1, 20187 yr It should be a yellow if the defender is trying to play the ball, but I disagree with the ref there. He was coming through the back of the player, it should be a red.

He was coming through the back of the player, it should be a red. especially since it was an open net at that point, and literally a tap on the ball = goal, and the takedown was from behind Edited July 1, 20187 yr by AUS-97HORN
July 1, 20187 yr So would a Luis Suarez handball on the line be a yellow card now? Because that play was pretty much the exact same.
July 1, 20187 yr Schmeichel whining - he never stopped moving and you went WAAAAYYYY off your line int he overtime block
July 1, 20187 yr I like Schmechel but he bitches a lot for a guy that comes off the line early every time. Edited July 1, 20187 yr by A-Tex Devil
